Complete the following in your personal blog or logbook:

1. Keep a daily journal and write a few lines on good turns you have done for your neighbours or the community you live in each day for a period of 2 weeks.
2. Print or draw a map of your neighbourhood and mark on your map the location of your house and the location of the following:
   • Community centre or community club
   • Post office box
   • Fire hydrant
   • Hospital or outpatient clinic or private clinic
   • Fire station or civil defence post
   • HDB area office
   • Town council
   • Post office or Singapore post
   • Police station or neighbourhood police post
   • Wet market or supermarket
   • School
   • A place of worship (church, mosque, temple etc)
3. Make a list of emergency telephone numbers including your guardian's workplace, neighbour, police, civil defence, non-emergency ambulance, HBD maintenance service etc.
4. Collection times for the mail at the post box on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
5. Bus services that serve your neighbourhood.
6. Visit a family of a different race
   • Take a photo with the family. You may choose to include your own family members.
   • Find out the number of members in the family (name, age, occupation, place of work/study) and write a brief description about "my neighbour".
7. Set aside about 10 pages of a logbook or several entries in your personal blog for the following:
   • Find and collect pictures from newspapers or magazine cuttings about "community and family life".
   • Paste them in the logbook and give a brief description about your articles. If using a blog, you may scan the news or magazine articles, or simply look for online news or magazine articles.
   • Stick a photograph or draw and colour a picture of your family.
   • Act in a skit, the following scenes:
     • Greeting - greet your friends and teachers when you meet them
     • A happy family
     • Getting along with friends
     • Helping around the house
     • Good neighbours
     • A happy occasion
8. Choose only 1 assignment from the following:
   • Visit the community centre or community club near your home.
     • Find out some of the activities and courses being organised including the duration, day and time
     • Highlight one activity or course you are interesting in joining.
   • Visit a police post or police centre near your home.
     • Find out how the police officers can help you and your family.
     • Write down what you have found out.
   • Find out about the resident's committee in your neighbourhood.
     • The number of members in the committee.
     • The names of the important members in the committee.
     • Write down how the resident's committee serves your neighbourhood.
   • Find out about the neighbourhood watch zone scheme operating in your block or estate.
     • The number of members in the scheme.
     • The names of the important members in the committee.
     • Write down how the members help one another.
