The Pandemic postponed the implementation, but BECTU has recently persuaded PACT to revisit these issues and have now incorporated most of the suggestions put forward in an amended agreement for use from 5th April 2021.
The amended agreement now highlights:
Streaming Video On Demand services (SVODs) are included for single piece theatrical-type content
Clarity about working day for SCWD
The removal of workshops from prep and wrap
The deletion of two grades from the list of prep & warp departments
Clear written agreement that prep & wrap will not be aggregated.
Improvement on the treatment of travel days on 6th & 7th day.
Dailies that complete a block or each single stand-alone night work will receive a paid turnaround day
Vagueness about meal penalty payments for SCWD made clearer.
New clause regarding late cancellation and compensation for dailies whether working days or nights.
West London included under recognised studios.
Please note, these changes do not represent a complete renegotiation of the agreement, but are another positive step towards continually improving the terms and conditions for members who work on Major Motion Pictures.
It is recognised that there are still issues, which will need member consultation, to highlight points in the agreement that need strengthening or improved.
