Vegan Report

Vegan and plant-based lifestyles have been constantly rising these past few years yet it seems that production and catering are still inadequately prepared to cater for technicians following this lifestyle.

One LTECH Member, taking from their own personal experience, compiled and wrote a report that aims to shed light on this huge problem, and start a conversation to better the work environment for vegan and vegetarian technicians.

As part of their research, a survey was run through social media and other channels to gather opinion and information.

The data collected was astonishing.

It shows that vegan or plant-based crew have to work hungry most days; even more shocking -in one question- half of the respondent acknowledges they are not able to follow their diet of choice at work as the options are not sustainable.

The report demonstrates that practical and affordable solution exists, solutions that could improve greatly the nutritious quality of the meal that plat-based crew are being served.

The following report was submitted to the LTECH Committee, and later endorsed by way of a branch vote at a General Meeting in May 2023. Subsequently, a presentation was given to London Production Division (LPD), who also endorsed the report and moved to include the evidence in the Unions Welfare policy.
