Pact & Bectu have released a joint statement on testing

A survey run by Bectu recently, highlighted that some jobs had a more relaxed approach to reducing the risk of Covid infiltrating their production.

In order to encourage improvements in safety protocols, particularly on small and lower budget jobs, a joint statement devised and published by Pact and Bectu aims to jointly push the level of compliance up.

This will not only focus on providing a safer working environment, but will also work to ensure that

 DCMS continues to allow our industry to keep working.

To avoid any confusion, the paragraph which reads:

 "uncontractual disincentives to people who report symptoms or have positive test results", 

refers to some contracts that have added waivers designed to stop wages, fees, or any form of compensation being paid to a worker, should they be required to self isolate due to a positive test or suspected symptoms.
