Each pay period consists of the following weeks:
Period 1: Weeks 0 - 4 (Deposited 9/26)
Period 2: Weeks 5 - 8 (Deposited 10/24)
Period 3: Weeks 9 - 14 (Deposited 12/5)
Period 4: Accuracy & Recruiting Incentives (Deposited 12/17)
All Live College Football Scouts are independent contractors. As such, you are responsible for documenting and uploading the necessary files to Connecteam to receive your incentives. This should be done individually for each game you work on. Examples of appropriate documentation include, but are not limited to:
Photo of a parking receipt or sign from the parking lot listing the price
A screenshot of a Google/Apple Maps that shows the route and distance from your HOME address to the stadium
A screenshot of your weather app taken during the game showing precipitation or a temperature that will incur the incentive.
If there's rain, a photo of a wet chair/bench near you would be sufficient for a weather incentive as well
Do not upload images containing non-incentive-worthy information to Connecteam.
The pay periods/dates are listed above. Each deposit will include your base pay, incentives earned (excluding your accuracy incentives), and parking reimbursements (and equipment if applicable). All accuracy incentives will accrue for the duration of the season and will be given in one lump sum as part of your final deposit of the season (January).
We encourage you to arrive at your game as soon as possible. At minimum, we expect you to be in your seat 15 minutes before the opening kickoff. If you are unable to accomplish this, you must notify your game supervisor immediately.
Homecoming, freeway construction, inclement weather, etc. are NOT excuses for being late. If any of these or other factors will affect the time it takes you to get to the stadium, plan accordingly. Tardiness to your game will affect your incentives for that game as follows:
Missing opening kickoff = No accuracy incentive
Missing Q1 = No incentives
Missing the entire 1st half or more = No pay at all, and you will be subject to losing future assignments
Leaving a game early = No pay at all, and you will be subject to losing future assignments
You are NOT authorized to leave your game early unless directly instructed to by your game supervisor
If your game supervisor dismisses you, then you may leave your game and you will receive all earned payments/incentives
A 1099-NEC form is an annual tax form listing the gross amount of payments made to an independent contractor during the calendar year. There is a catch:
Independent contractors (like yourself) are NOT required to submit a 1099 form unless you earn at least $600 for your services during that calendar year
Thus, if you earn less than $600 as a CFB Scout this season, you will NOT receive a 1099 form from SIS
Given the unique circumstances of this season, several Scouts may finish below this threshold
According to the IRS, you still need to report all income that you earned through contractor work when you file your taxes. Your tax software/professional will assist you on how to do this without a 1099. If you do not know the exact number you need to report, you may reach out to Ben (bhrkach@sportsinfosolutions.com).
