The day before your game, an Ops member (Ben, Theo, or Max) will facilitate a group chat with the 2 Scouts assigned to the game. That Ops member will be your game Supervisor. Scouts are expected to use this chat for all communication before and during the game
Your tickets will also be transferred to your phone (or email) the day before your game. Always check your Spam folder as a precaution. DO NOT ask us about tickets more than 24 hours before your game
If something happens leading up to or during a game, we expect that you let us know immediately and directly via text, call, or email. Ben Hrkach, Max Nuscher, and Theo Fornaciari should all be in your phone contacts
If you are scheduled to work a game, you will work that game. There will never be a scenario where you will be removed from a game assignment without being notified by an Ops member
If you pay for parking, please keep the receipt or snap a picture of the signage that displays how much that particular lot costs. You will need this for reimbursement
You are responsible for purchasing and bringing the necessary equipment to your game. You all have smartphones, and we expect your device to be fully charged before entering the stadium. If your device runs out of battery during your game, you will automatically lose your accuracy incentive for that game
If you wish, you can bring a portable charger with you to your game. We would recommend this as a higher battery typically leads to better processing power for the mobile device
If you do not have a portable charger, you may purchase one. Below is the link to a portable charger that scouts have used previously. If you purchase ANY charger or portable battery, you will be reimbursed a maximum of $25. You must submit your receipt to Connecteam to receive reimbursement
Portable charger from Amazon. NOTE: Make sure you open and test your portable charger before bringing it to the stadium
If your game has rain in the forecast, bring a clear poncho. We have found the best way to work in the rain is to keep your hands and device inside the poncho. If you don't have a poncho, use the link below to purchase. If you do purchase ANY poncho, you will be reimbursed a maximum of $10 for the purchase. You must submit your receipt to Connecteam to receive the reimbursement
Both the poncho and portable charger are optional pieces of equipment. That said, there are no excuses for being unprepared for the weather or a dead battery
Scouts are required to be at their seats at least 15 minutes before kickoff
You don't necessarily have to sit in the seat listed on your ticket. If you need to move around to get a better view or improve your connectivity, please do so. However, you and your partner MUST sit next to each other (unless otherwise directed by your game supervisor)
Open and log into Banjo as soon as you are in your seat
Confirm with your game supervisor once you have arrived
At 10 minutes or less before Kickoff, run your Ookla Test (signal test), screenshot the results, and then send them in the group chat
If you are unable to connect with this test, follow the process provided in Tech Troubleshooting
You should have 4 tabs/items open for the duration of your game
Notify your game supervisor when your game reaches halftime and when the game is over
If your game constitutes a weather incentive, make sure to screenshot that information when you have time. You will need this to earn the incentive
Ideally, this would be a screenshot of your weather app
A picture of rain falling or a nearby wet chair/bleacher is sufficient
Immediate and transparent communication is vital. Every second matters in this operation. The SIS team is here to support you at all times, and the best way to improve is through collaboration
Once the Clock Scout taps End Game, you are free to leave. Please notify your game supervisor that your game is over
Best practice would be to upload all applicable incentive/reimbursement content to Connecteam when you get home from your game. At the latest, we need this uploaded before Monday at 9 am EST
Get home safely!
