In the Clock Scout role, you are responsible for initiating all timeouts: Team OR Official. For uniformity, there is a timeout button under each team. However, both timeout buttons will take you to the same timeout type screen, where you will determine if the timeout was called by one of the teams or is an Official Timeout. The timeout button will also automatically trigger a Full Stop if the clock is running.
This new flow is derived from a client request to receive an alert anytime there COULD be a lengthy stoppage. That initial timeout button will send this alert on the back end.
You may cancel the timeout at any point in the flow if it turns out that the stoppage does not qualify as a Team or Official Timeout. These should be minimal, but may happen. The "Cancel" button will abort you from the timeout flow.
TV/Media timeout (this will be the most common)
Many (but not all) changes of possession will be followed by a media timeout. If you see a person with orange gloves come onto the field with a digital clock, this will be your indicator that your game is going to commercial (that clock will count you down from the commercial break)
TV timeouts are often announced by the officials. Being in the stadium, it should be obvious when there is a commercial break because nothing will be happening
2 Minute Timeout
We have confirmed with clients that this MUST be an Official Timeout
You will also see the person with orange gloves come out for this
Significant injuries to ANY players
If it's a key player, you still need to trigger an injury alert from the Players Tab
The term "significant injury" is subjective. Use your best judgment. You all watch enough football to know the difference between something like a cramp or a sprain versus a tear or a head injury
End of Quarter/Halftime (implied timeout by selecting End Quarter)

As mentioned above, selecting timeout under either team will take you to a screen that looks like this
In this example, I selected timeout under Georgia Tech (GT). But as you can see, I still have the option to initiate a timeout for Louisville (LOU) if they end up being the team that calls it
This is also where you will find the Official Timeout button
Once you have selected the team that initiated the timeout, you will see this screen
If you realize that you selected the wrong team/wrong timeout type, select the Back button, and you will return to the Timeout Type screen
There's basically no situation where you should abort (Cancel) from this screen outside of the officials completely miscommunicating the reason for the stoppage
You can add a timeout back by tapping on the empty bubble and then selecting Confirm
Theoretically, you can add/remove up to 3 timeouts from both teams
You shouldn't ever need to add/charge more than 1 timeout at a time, unless you are experiencing severe connectivity issues that caused you to miss a large chunk of game action
Just to reiterate from above, DO NOT overthink this. Official Timeouts will be common due to the number of commercial breaks in college football
We don't need them for every single little stoppage that happens in a football game, or the ones that are implied based on events that happen during the game
You are likely going to confirm 10 or more of these per game
Once you select Official Timeout, you will see this screen to the left
The options on this screen function the same way as they do on the Team Timeout Screen
Aborting (Cancel) from this screen is not common
