Dress code must comply with stadium regulations
Please use common sense to stay cool/warm, as needed, and as dry as possible
We don't need you in business casual, we need you to be comfortable
There is a chance you will be standing for some/most of the game, so bring proper footwear
If you know people at the game and are congregating/tailgating prior, feel free to join in and have fun responsibly! That said, we require:
ZERO INTAKE OF ALCOHOL
ZERO INTAKE OF ILLICIT DRUGS
All Scouts must be in their seats at least 15 minutes before kickoff
Cheering for either team is encouraged, as long as you are performing your responsibilities in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
Communication with those around you, especially the Scout along with you, should always be respectful and constructive
Both Scouts are trying to do their best, so look to help when you can. Always be positive and productive
Try to anticipate any needs
Have a large pregame meal
Bring a snack & beverage that can be eaten right before entering the stadium. Most stadiums will allow you to bring in unopened food or beverages
Scouts should limit bathroom breaks and concessions to halftime
Between the quarters is a quicker break if it's an emergency
SIS will NOT reimburse for concessions
If you have to leave your seat while the game is in play, you or your teammate MUST communicate this with the SIS team member overseeing your game
If anybody around you asks what you're doing, you can reply that you are entering scouting information on the players through your phone. Please do not show the app to other fans. If they ask to see or learn more about it, politely tell them that you are required to keep it confidential
If a representative of the school/venue asks you to stop scouting or using your phone: comply with instructions, put your phone away, and leave the venue. Notify your game supervisor as soon as possible
We do NOT expect this to occur. That being said, please comply with the stadium’s rules and avoid confrontation. The fine print of your ticket gives stadium personnel the right to eject you from the stadium for any reason
If it does happen, you will not be in any trouble. You may tell them that you are entering scouting data for the players through your phone. If they ask you to stop, then stop. If they ask you to leave the stadium, then leave the stadium.
If they ask for your name, you may reply that you and your partner are some combination of Ben Hrkach, Max Nuscher, and Theo Fornaciari (sorry that the three of us all have difficult last names)
