This function can be found on the bottom left of the Banjo footer. Its purpose is to alert Ops (and subsequently clients) that there is currently an unexpected issue affecting the data collection in that specific game. Both Play Scout and Clock Scout can utilize this function. You can exit this screen by tapping Back or deselecting Danger in the Footer. This feature was formerly referred to as "Panic."
If you confirm a "Danger State," it will automatically alert an Ops member that you have an issue that requires assistance. This should only be used if you have exhausted all possible solutions that you and your partner can think of.
There could be a wide variety of reasons why you would need to use this, but the most common examples include:
I/My partner lost connection or cannot get connected to the internet
Lightning or inclement weather has temporarily stopped the game
I/My partner is injured or sick and cannot continue
I/My partner is stuck on a certain screen
I/My partner's application isn’t updating/screen is frozen
I don’t know what to do and need help
Once you have confirmed Danger, your Banjo will enter the "Danger State." The "Danger State" is specific to each device. Thus, the scout who initiated the Danger is the ONLY person who can resolve the event, which you can do by navigating back to the Danger tab and selecting "Safe" as seen below. You MUST exit the "Danger State" as soon as the situation is resolved.
Using this button is serious and should ONLY be used for severe connectivity/device issues, medical emergencies, or if instructed to do so by your game supervisor. This is NOT for minor mistakes like accidentally attributing the wrong player or missing a scoring play. Please follow up with your game supervisor about any confirmed Danger event to provide additional details on the issue. If you or your partner is experiencing a medical emergency, absolutely call 9-1-1 first.
