Continuing the Devil May Cry marathon I’m doing because of that quarantine life, Devil May Cry 4 has what you would expect in any other Devil May Cry game, tight and highly customizable, with a wide lovable cast of characters, including some new ones too.

Honestly I don’t have much to say about Devil May Cry 4. It’s the same thing done again, and to be honest, not as well as Devil May Cry 3. The reason I say that is because the main campaign introduces a new character, Nero, who is SO AWESOME AND COOL, but just isn’t as fleshed out combat wise as Dante is. You control both Dante and Nero in the main campaign, which is great, but doesn’t make sense story wise, as the story is more so weighed on Nero rather than Dante. How it’s portrayed is that both of them practically get 50/50 of the amount of screen time (11 missions for Nero, 9 for Dante).I guess I partially get it, since they already have so many other campaigns, like Vergil and Lady/ Trish’s, and having 4 or 5 different campaigns (if the kept Lady/ Trish’s route combined or not) would be a bit much on the player.

Other than the imbalance of Nero, the shining new playable character of DMC4, feeling a bit under represented in my opinion, like I said, there isn’t much about DMC4 that stands out compared to DMC3. Sure Dante still has his four different styles of combat, but nothing else. I feel like I’m rambling more than just criticizing DMC4, so I’ll end this by saying the DMC4 I just okay, with Nero being the best part of DMC4, while everything else is average.
