Destruction Incarnate

Surtur, Thanatos, Perses, Nergal, The Nian, The Grootslang, Pulgasari, Manananggal, Shiva. These are creatures or being of destruction and death. A natural cycle of life, the end of mythologies. The Shiva Clan was born of the destructive potential of the creatures of the world. To dominate and conquer, and destroy that which refused to be dominated. Pure brute power, intimidating individuals that express their desire for control upon the world. The Shiva Clan is full of these people. Not evil, per-say, they are far more aligned with the natural instincts that guide all people. They embrace their battle tendencies, the will to fight, and so on. The Shiva Clan has far more people that have achieved Naiteki than any other clan, although their Lieutenants and Captains aren't required to learn Bankai.

Founding of Clan Shiva:

The Shiva was the first Lizardfolk to be changed. He was the first of his kind to gain a Shoshiki. He was the most powerful Lizardfolk to ever walk the planet. His ethos was survival. His teacher was the wild. His master was the way of the natural world. He learned from these and what they had to teach him. Shiva passed these teachings on to his disciples. Survival of the fittest, the strong eat the weak, you can never escape the natural rule and cycle. This was the Shiva that the clan was named after, his disciples came together to teach their Master's ways to the world, and did so, setting up their base of power in the Minami region.

Officer Test:

To apply for an officer position in Shiva is to apply to a death match of Shikai. Semi-annual fights are held on the Island of the Zaibatsu around where the Shiva Clan maintains its headquarters. These fights include fifty contestants, and they fight until five people are left. Upon these five remaining they are required to merely survive in the presence of a Captain's Naiteki for five minutes. After this, they are accepted as Officers and given a small squad to carry out harder contracts.

Lieutenant Test:

Lieutenants are the most visible high ranked positions, and as such in the Shiva Clan they must obtain a Naiteki. This is because due to the animal nature of the Shiva clan it makes it difficult to achieve Bankai. In order to pass a Lieutenant test a Yohei must engage in a three way battle to the death with two other Naiteki capable Officers. In addition a Lieutenant must put forth their own recommendation for an Officer to be promoted.

Captain Test:

In order to become a Captain you must kill a Captain. There are no other ways. To become the apex predator within the clan you must force your will upon the most powerful and willful people within it. The Captains.
