The Capital of Kita is a snowy haven, set in the deepest parts of the region. There are times of the year when the capital is completely unreachable by sea, as the surrounding waters will turn to ice and even sink large ships. For this reason the Daimyo of Kita has a requirement of food stores to be filled every summer and fall, before the frosts set in, for all islands in Kita that are succeptable to this.
The capital palace itself is a geometric wonder that evokes the sense of an ice cavern, while being sensible at the same time.
The streets of the capital island are filled with winter coat wearing natives that wave happily and welcome strangers to their frosty lands. The Kita Capital Markets are among the most welcoming in the world. The other major item that one would find here, other than the proliferation of seafood of every kind, is furs. Due to the cold, furs and leathers from Kita are highly valued due to their extraordinarily fantastic heat insulating properties.
The markets of the Capital are filled with the biggest export of fish in any region. Kita itself is blessed with the biggest, tastiest, most prevalent fish in all the world. Here in the famous Yuuki no Kyuuden markets are the masters of their craft when it comes to fish. The most renowned chefs, sushi masters, and fish merchants come from these markets.
Yukiyama is one of the wonders of the world. A massive mountain that is half earth and half ice. Many people live within the complex cave systems of the great mountain, but are wary of the mountain kami that roam the locale. Yukiyama is sought out far and near as a challenge to climb by adventurous souls.
The largest of the Old World temples, the Kami Temple is known throughout the world for being the largest most intricate temple to Kami in the world. It is filled with hidden depths, endless mazes and catacombs, and a nearly infinite amount of floors. None have plunged its depths and returned to tell the tale. There are many treasures within the depths of the Kami Temple, and even more to learn about oneself and one's Honzen.
Fubukimori is a haunted forest. The spirits of the long dead inhabit it, and unfortunately in order to get to the capital palace of Yuuki no Kyuuden as well as the famous markets, one must pass through Fubukimori. All sorts of Kami, both good and bad, roam Fubukimori and typically large caravans are guarded by a group of Yohei on the trip in and out in order to ensure the cargo of the merchants, as well as the safety of the travelers.
The Great White Glacier that surrounds the Yuuki no Kyuuden is a a wonder. In order to reach the tallest mountain in the world you have to travel through this ice-canyon. Traveling along the top is thought impossible as it reaches so high you'd be deprived of oxygen and suffocate. Also thought of as a gigantic ice wall, as it is the biggest piece of ice, framing the furthest island from the center of the known world, and traveling the seas around Yuuki no Kyuuden eventually gets you to impassible ice barges. Like Fubukimori, these glacial passes are haunted and require escort by experienced Yohei.
