The Pragmatists

Clan Kurama asks not what you can achieve by seeking to enlighten oneself via travel like the Eos, or what merely surviving will do like the Shiva, nor do they wish to protect like the Moen, nor achieve some great end goal like the Eshen. Clan Kurama asks what is practical. What will doing these things, making friends, crushing opposition, what will they accomplish in the long run? Kurama, above all of it, seeks a harmony and balance in life. Those that join Clan Kurama tend to be pragmatic, so much so that they find achieving Shikai and Bankai to be easier, mostly due to the fact that they seek to understand and deal with their Honzen. However they find facing their inner base instincts, their Yokai, difficult as you cannot reason with instinct. Kurama tend to mainly operate around Nishi.

Founding of Clan Kurama:

Kurenai Kurama was a woman of great power, she looked down greatly upon most of the other founded clans. Shiva was too brutal. Eos was too free. Eshen was too cold. Moen was too protective. She wanted something different, something more concrete. She founded the clan after her own last name based on her ideology of how life should be lived. Asking the bigger picture and how we could affix ourselves in order to make that picture just a bit brighter by seeking the real things in our lives. If something does not have purpose why should it have existence after all?

Officer Test:

In the idea of making things ever better, an Officer has a easy task, but a hard sell. He or she must approach a smaller culture and introduce to them a technology they have not yet been exposed to. This could be as simple as plumbing, farming techniques, etc, just a form of advancement that they would benefit from.

Lieutenant Test:

All that live help turn the wheel. In order to become a Lieutenant an Officer must find a criminal from a small town or village and rehabilitate them. The test must be conducted without the criminal in question never knowing that the Yohei is, in fact, a Yohei. For all intents and purposes the testing Yohei is a normal person. Upon a year of that criminal being reformed with no new crimes being done the Officer will be offered a Lieutenant position.

Captain Test:

In order to become a Captain you must do a single simple task. Balance a ledger. Except the ledger is the entire economy of one of the four regions. The applicant must obtain all relevant information on one of the four regions, every village, every town, and the capital of that region. They cannot obtain this information from another Clan Kurama member, and instead must seek help, if they require it, from other sources. This test takes the average applicant five years to even submit their proposal. Upon submission the current Captains will review the submission and decide if it is good enough to work.
