Warforged

The Warforged. The soldiers of a war long gone. The warriors of a lost time. Warforged were created by one of the Royal Family members to serve as an army for a conflict that is lost to the annals of history. Warforged bodies are unique and the method to their creation has been lost to time. Due to this whenever a new Warforged soul is born, at the moment one dies, they inhabit a vacant body. There are always as many bodies for the Warforged as there are souls. Sometimes a body may lay vacant for decades before being inhabited, and as such seem dead, but a soul always finds its way there.

Warforged are thought to be immortal, this is largely wrong. Warforged only live to be about one hundred years old, then their soul moves on and leaves the body, allowing a new, younger soul, to inhabit it. Some knowledge is left, such as the ability to speak the local language and basic functionalities, but the personality is completely new. Warforged will usually customize their bodies in order to personalize it while they inhabit it. Warforged look like living armor or constructs of stone, metal, or wood.
