Aasimar

The Aasimar were among the first of the Nine Races created. Largely inspired by old tales of the Kotoamatsukami the Aasimar were gifted with divine blood, the very essence of selflessness being put into their DNA. Aasimar are one of two races that can spontaneously occur from pure human couplings. While they are certainly inclined towards "good" behavior due to their blood they are not all good nor all benevolent. Just like any other creature they learn from their experiences, good and bad, and shape their behavior accordingly.

Typically Aasimar will task themselves with the betterment of those around them even to their detriment, often rising to positions of importance in the culture where they grew up, drawing upon their inherited personal magnetism to impress those around them.

Generally Aasimar have clear skin and regular, almost perfect, features. They are in good shape and resemble near perfect humans. While they look like humans overall their bloodline tells another story. The legacy of this celestial blood can manifest in many ways. Some Aasimar have a unique eye or skin color, wings, or even a visible halo. Only rare do these reminders of their source detract from the beauty of an Aasimar, instead lending them an air of the divine.

Aasimar mature at the same rate as humans, although they live much longer. Typically Aasimar will live to be over 150 years old.
