Rules

Discord Rules

1. Staff Discretion: All rules are subject to the discretion of the administrative staff and will take precedence over said rules. This does not mean you can ignore either the precedence set nor the original rule.

2. Be Adults: If you disagree with other members please keep it civil. Insults and slurs are unacceptable when they are directed at people.

3. Spam and Clutter: Keep conversations relevant to the topic of the channel. If the current topic is not on-topic please drop a link to a more relevant channel and continue there. #general is the exception to this rule.

4. Moderation: There is not to be public argument over moderation decisions. If you have concerns about the moderation, a moderator, or the rules please message a member of the staff or an administrator. If you feel your complaint cannot be handled feel free to reach out to Pat.

5. NSFW: We allow 18+ content on the server in the form of mature content. This can be sexual content, violent scenes, etc. Please do not use these things overly so and keep them to roleplay. We are not a porn server after all.

6. Role-play: If a role-play occurs in direct messages it is largely considered non-canon. Please keep role-plays that you would like to be canonical to your character on the server. If this cannot be done a google document of the role-play needs to be submitted to the server for recording purposes. Additionally bold text is reserved for Presence Step 3 posts, where italics are reserved for Step 1 use.

7. Loopholes: We expect that each member will understand the spirit of each rule we place instead of the letter of that rule. Abusing bad verbiage can be grounds for disciplinary action.

8. Discord Names: We require you, upon reading this rule, to change your discord name on the server to something that is able to be typed by normal keyboards. In addition we ask that you keep a normal consistent username.

9. Language: We require all conversations in voice chat between members of the server be done using English. We require all conversations in the text chat to be done in exclusively English. This is for moderation purposes.

10. Pings: Do not ghost ping people. Ping etiquette is 10 minutes for the first ping, and then the subsequent ones should be done after 2-3 hours of no response.

11. Pinging Pat: Do not do this. Pat painstakingly goes over every single channel and reads everything. If you leave a question in a channel for him, he WILL see it eventually. This is now punishable by a 30 minute mute regardless of situation.

12. Circumvention: Some rules or guidelines may be circumvented by select members of staff. If you suspect someone is breaking a rule you may, at any time, contact Pat and ask if he has given that staff member permission to circumvent the rules. In addition we have a tradition that if you pay for a large papa johns Hawaiian pizza to be delivered to Pat's house you can circumvent a rule. For legal reasons this is a joke.

Roleplay Rules

1. Turn Orders: We use the TBL style here. TBL is described as below, taken from the Grand Central Hub Server.

T1 - Type 1, or turn 1. Roleplay style originating in Yahoo during the late 90's. T1 allows combatants to duke it out using open ended actions while taking turns posting to the Roleplay. Combat is reserved to a players view of their unique character and no attack is considered set in stone until it is acknowledged that the opposing party can not defend or dodge the action. T1 may include preps, or prepared attacks, spanning multiple posts.

TBL - An updated form of T1, Turn Based Logic (TBL) is a modern combat style that allows for the same open ended actions to be taken but with stronger influence to logic. All attacks and defenses must adhere to valid reasoning from the combatant executing the action.

2. RP Locking: We allow characters to unlock themselves if a reply has not been received within one full day. In the event of a manual RP Unlock the situation will resolve in the most logical manner and result in a neutral ending, benefiting neither party.

3. Perspective: We require that all posts be done in third person limited perspective.

4. Post Length: We require at least seven words per post. This is small and should, under no circumstances, be gone under.

5. Godmodding: See Role Play Etiquette for what this is. This is not allowed.

6. Meta-gaming: See rule #5. Same applies.
