The Coimbatore TSF team received a request from Thoorigai Trust, an NGO operating in the city, to extend support for 160 tribal families in and around Nilgiris. The five villages benefited were Kadasholai, Ullthatti, Aadupettu, Kothagiri and Kodanadu. The tribes in these villages are undergoing immense hardship due to loss of work, economic inactivity.

We identified several families affected, for the provision of ration kits. On 20th June, ration kits consisting of rice, salt, spices, sugar, oil, pulses etc were distributed to these families, each kit worth 8-10 days of food for a family of 3-4 people. The TSF team completed this activity in collaboration with Thoorigai Trust.

Though they live in very pleasant climes, economic activities haven't resumed. The people were so full of gratitude and so hospitable, that we were treated to a sumptuous lunch by the villagers.

They expressed their immense gratitude to Satsang Foundation for providing this support.

Truly felt the meaning of "Dekhath naahi koi kinaara" - just a small gesture received and reciprocated with immense love and affection.
