Continuing ration project in PCMC, this was our third non repetitive distribution activity wherein ration kits were distributed to 115(460 people) underprivileged families on 3rd June, 2020. Beneficiaries were a mix of daily wagers / housemaids / drivers and small-time hawkers etc, all of them struggling to find any source of income now. A local social group also pitched in with 34 kits. Distribution took place at Gosavi Morya temple in Chinchwad. It was pouring throughout the day in Pune due to Nisarg cyclone however we faced no problem as the temple authority had allowed us to use their large shed to distribute kits.

TSF Volunteers distributed ration to 66 families (264 people) on 6th June, 2020. This was our fifth visit of ration distribution in Kondhwa area wherein families from Lakshmi Nagar, Shivshambo nagar and nearby area of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar(Bibvewadi) were supported.

We started with 6 families in Kondhwa about a month back in the first week of May. 2nd time, we reached another 6 families, 3rd round we repeated support to 6 families. in our 4th visit we supported 33 families and today, on 6th June, 2020 we were able to provide ration to 61 underprivileged families. It’s very heartening to see local residents volunteering for distribution, helping us reach out to more people who desperately need help and also pitching in to validate the genuineness of these cases. We tried to get some local volunteers for crowd management and RSS kindly helped us with two of their young volunteers for the same.

Keshavnagar in Hadapsar was the second place of distribution today, 6th June, 2020, where we helped 5 families. 3 families were supported by us on 13th May, 2020 and 2 families were supported for first time today.

TSF Pune team in collaboration with Family Planning Association of India(FPAI), Pune branch distributed ration to Transgenders, People with HIV, Cancer patients and disabled people. This set of the society has been completely ignored so far since the lockdown started and they were in dire need of ration. They have not received any help from the government or any other agency so far. This project will be conducted over multiple days covering these communities across Pune.

On 11th June, 2020 ration was provided to 31 Transgenders, HIV (88 People) 22 Families, Divyang (12 People) 3 Families, Cancer Patient (8 People) 2 Families

On 12th June, 2020 ration was provided to 19 Transgenders, 8 HIV patients families (32 People)

This was second set of activity by TSF volunteers on 12th June, 2020. TSF Pune team distributed ration to 19 underprivileged families from Janta Vasahat slum. These people lost their source of income during the pandemic lockdown.

We are looking at the possibility of connecting them with labor agencies to employ them suitably.

TSF Volunteers distributed ration to 115 families (460 people) on 13th June, 2020. This was our sixth visit of ration distribution in Kondhwa area wherein 109 families from Lakshmi Nagar, Sukhsagar and nearby area of Annabhausathe slum(Bibvewadi) were supported.

It’s very heartening to see local residents volunteering help for distribution. A gentleman offered us some area for distribution in half constructed building. That helped us in keeping away from the busy road.

It was almost dusk when TSF volunteers reached Hadapsar the second place of distribution today, 13th June, 2020, where they helped 6 families with ration kits.

Family Planning Association of India(NGO) conducts medical tests, procedures and provides medical help for Transgenders and HIV patients through their mobile clinic vans.

To safeguard their 100 health workers, on 19th June, 2020, TSF volunteers donated 100 face shields to Mr. Chander Khosala(Vice President) and Geetanjali Deshpande(Hon. Secretary) FPAI Pune.

Continuing ration distribution in PCMC, this was our 4th distribution drive wherein ration kits were distributed to 84 underprivileged families on 22nd June, 2020. It was a mix of daily wagers / housemaids / drivers and small-time hawkers etc, all of them struggling to find any source of income now. A local social group also pitched in with 34 kits. Distribution took place at Goswami Morya temple in Chinchwad. Mr Sachin Vidhate, RTO inspector, gave a very inspiring talk on the need to be mentally strong and the importance of being there for their friends and relatives in these stressful times. He emphasized on the need to stay positive and fight this pandemic together. He also spoke about the various SOPs given by the RTO regarding driver’s licenses, their insurance and other safety measures that the drivers could use while driving. Mr Rahul Khole, secretary of the Laghu Udyog Bharati, PCMC (RSS subsidiary) gave everyone an insight and how on how their organization had created a system to put together needy employees and employers in PCMC to everyone’s mutual benefit.

This was 3rd round of ration supply to Aniket specialty. Aniket was started by Ms. Kalpana Varpe whose unfettered determination, hard work and selfless efforts are responsible for helping scores of mentally challenged individuals from the age of 4 years to 46 years in the format of a residential rehabilitation center and school. TSF volunteers visited this institution on 26th June, 2020 to deliver the provisions

This was 3rd round of ration supply to Manvya Gokul, a home for HIV+ children, which offers a safe shelter, educational and vocational opportunities, nutritional diet and medical treatment and assistance (ART) for all our children. Gokul is situated in Bhugaon, very close to Pune city. Currently there are 57 children from age group of 1-18 years who now constitute as one big Gokul family. Manavya (Humanity in Marathi Language) is among the few pioneering Non-Government Organizations (NGO) in India, to understand the ramifications of HIV/AIDS outburst in India and to take necessary steps to rehabilitate the innocent children and women affected by this dreaded disease. On 26th June, 2020, TSF volunteers provided for the requested ration. It happened to be Manavya's Vardhapan Din(Anniversary day) and the children had put up an entertainment show. This was the first time the volunteers got to interact with children though from a distance.

On 29th June, 2020 was 2nd round of TSF ration supply to Sumatai Balvan. first being in early April, 2020. Sumati Balvan is an innovative school run by Radhabai Hardikar Pranijat Mangal Sanstha Trust. School is exclusively for children belonging from underprivileged families, it not only provides skill based vocational education but also endeavors to create awareness in community and children towards the environment. TSF Pune team supports this school throughout the year whenever the need arises and has had multiple visits to the school in the past.
