TSF Pune had received a request from Dr. Uma Wankhedkar (Gynecology) at Sassoon Hospital for N95 Masks and Face shields. Resident Doctors and nurses did not have the N95 masks and face shield and were really under a lot of stress as they had barely any protection while catering to Covid positive patients. TSF volunteers visited Sassoon hospital on 18th May, 2020 to deliver the protective gear to help 30 doctors and nurses. Dr. Uma with other doctors and HOD Dr. Bhosale received TSF representatives very warmly and and thanked us with a lot of humility. We made them aware of the founder of TSF, Sri M and also about the various TSF activities. Incidentally 10 days back they admitted full term Covid +ve pregnant ladies and 2 days ago all 4 patients along with their new borns were discharged after testing Covid -ve . They were all so proud of this outcome and it was equally encouraging for us to hear such great news.

27 families of daily wagers / housemaids / construction laborer were temporarily relocated to Rajendra Nagar and Karve Nagar as builder started construction of a commercial complex on the land of their shanties. These families had not received any help from anywhere and needed ration urgently. On 20th May, 2020 TSF volunteers provided ration to the identified 27 families(108 people)

This was the second round of distribution for these 6 families, first being distributed on 6th May, 2020. TSF volunteers had received a distress call from few residents in Kondhwa that the ration supply which was provided some two weeks back from TSF was nearing exhaution.. These were housemaids , who are hard working and self-respecting ladies who have been out of work since lockdown and have no source of income left. They were very ashamed and embarrassed to ask for help, but the pressing need left them with no choice
On 23rd May 2020, TSF team provided dry ration kits to 6 families (30 people). The kit included Wheat flour 5 kg, Rice 5 kg, 2 bathing soap, Sugar 1kg, Turmeric powder 100 gm, Rai 100 gm, Tur dal 1 kg, Oil 1L, Chilli powder 100gm, Salt 1 kg
Rickshaw drivers and local bus/van drivers have no source of income since the start of the lockdown. Mr. Yogesh Chinchawde of Kalbhairav Utsav Samiti, sent us the list of needy families. Kalbhairav Samiti was running an open kitchen in Chinchwad during lockdown 1 and 2(for a period of about 40 days) which served almost 9000 meals daily. Kitchen has been shut down now and these families needed ration urgently. With the help from local and RSS volunteers TSF Pune team distributed ration kits to all 125 families(500 people) on 25th May, 2020. 2 Kg Vegetables and 1 Litre Oil was arranged by local social groups for each family.

BDO of Maval region and Doctors Incharge of Dehu Road, Talegaon, Wadgaon Maval and Alandi Primary Health Centres(PHCs) had requested TSF team to provide medical protection kit to the medical staff of these hospitals. Pune team had already donated to one such PHC in Wagholi and have observed the inadequate protective equipment at these hospitals. There are on an average 2 Doctors, 5 nurses and 3 health care workers making the total average to be 10 staff per hospital. On 26th May, 2020 TSF volunteers visited following PHCs to deliver the protection kits

33 families of daily wagers / housemaids / carpenters and other daily wagers have been out of work for more than 2 months now. On 29th May, 2020 TSF volunteers provided the essential to these 33 families(132 people). 4 out of these families received second round of ration distribution. They had received last supply from us on 13th May, 2020. 29 families are newly identified and could manage food with great difficulty till now. Their meagre savings have exhausted during this lockdown. They are under lot of pressure to pay rent and sustain themselves at the same time without any source of income. All families are ready to work if given an opportunity. We are looking at the possibility of connecting them with labour agencies to employ them suitably

TSF received request for another round of distribution at Bavdhan. We catered to second round request from Waghmare chawl, Bavdhan for 8 families. They had received ration from us on 23rd April and we had planned second round distribution on 5th May. They informed us timely that they had received some supply from Nagar nigam and requested us to help others in need. Now Nagar nigam supplies had exhausted. 3 tribal families nearby were also provided ration for the 3rd time. Previous distribution to these 3 families happened on 23rd April, 6th May 2020. These 3 tribal families also informed us that their labour work at construction site got resumed that very day which was reassuring to hear. We also provided 1 kit for needy family in Pimple Saudagar. The request had come through an acquaintance. 5 ration kits were provided at Hadapsar to families of househelps and daily wagers
17 families(68 people) in all were served under this stated activity on 29th May, 2020
