TSF team received request from residents of Hanuman Nagar, Erandawane for ration supply. These families reside on a hill and little was supplied from government which did not sustain through the lockdown period. With the extension of the lockdown, need for ration supply resurfaced. In most of the families the womenfolk are housemaids and not all are getting their usual salaries. The menfolk being daily wagers are out of work these days. After due diligence, TSF team identified 40 families(160 people) to serve and conducted distribution drive on 5th May, 2020.

TSF team received a request from Mahatma society, Kothrud where 9 families(36 people) needed ration. Men in these families work as guards, gardeners, or peons in offices. They do not have any source of income and have not received any help from anywhere so far. Ration kits were procured and distributed on 5th May, 2020.

This was re-distribution to nomadic families living nearby construction site. All these families are of daily wage labourers who have been put out of work because of lockdown.
This re-distribution was done on 6th May, 2020. 33 families (132 people) were provided with dry ration kits. The kit included Wheat flour 5 kg., Rice 5 kg., 2 bathing soap, Sugar 1 kg., Chilli powder 100 gm., Salt 1 kg., Turmeric powder 100gm., Jeera 100gm., Rai 100 gm., Tur daal 2 kg., Oil 1 lt.
TSF volunteers received a distress call from few residents in Kondhwa. These were housemaids , who are hard working and self-respecting ladies. They were very ashamed and embarrassed to ask for help, and were saying that they have never thought to see such days.

Pune is one of the major COVID19 hotspots in the country and Pune Police is playing a huge role in ensuring the lock down gives the society expected results of curbing the spread of the COVID19 Virus. Pune DCP, Zone 5, Suhas Bavche requested TSF Pune team through RSS Swayamsevak Mr. Rajabhau Kadam for 5000 reusable cotton masks to be distributed in densely populated slum colonies of Pune including Somvar Peth and Kondhwa. On 7th May, 2020, TSF Pune delivered the masks at DCP Zone 5 office to Mr. Shekhar Shinde, the police officer deputed by Mr. Bavche for the purpose. Hadapsar, one of the major hotspots in Pune would also be one of the target areas where masks will be distributed along with other slum areas in Zone 5. Later in the day, DCP Suhas Bavche thanked TSF for timely help and shared a few more areas where TSF can help Pune Police.
TSF Pune team had distributed dry ration(phase 2) to 10 auto rickshaw driver families(50 people in all) on 22nd April, 2020. 3rd round of the distribution was conducted on 07th May, 2020

Bahirwadi is a tribal village, almost 50 Kms from Pune. People are majorly agricultural workers in nearby rice fields and currently do not have any source of income. They might get to work once monsoon sets in. TSF received the requirement through Dr. Prakash Yadav, HOD Sociology Department of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth. Letter including the details of the Adivasis families of Bahirwadi was also received from Mr. Akash Bhagat, a resident of Bahirwadi village. TSF got this requirement verified by Tehsildar of Purandar Taluka, Ms. Rupali Sarnobat who also helped in providing us with required permissions for access to the village. Purandar doesn't have any COVID19 positive case and travel from infected areas is prohibited for common people these days to keep a check on the spread.
It is in one of the most difficult, poorly developed mountainous terrains in Pune district and even covering 50 Km from Pune takes almost 3 hours. On 8th May, 2020, TSF volunteers conducted the ration distribution drive with the help of team of Talathis deputed by Tehsildar Madam. Villagers had not received any ration from last one month, no wonder they were extremely happy and relieved to receive ration supply. Out of a total of 165 kits(serving 825 people) TSF distributed 140 in Bahirwadi and the remaining 25 were distributed later in the evening to neighbouring areas of Narayan Peth and Khomne Vasti. Villagers thanked TSF for all the help. For volunteers, the whole experience of driving all the way to the village and seeing a smile on the faces of villagers after receiving the ration was truly gratifying.

This was 2nd round of ration supply to Aniket, shelter for differently abled. Aniket was started by Ms. Kalpana Varpe whose unfettered determination, hard work and selfless efforts are responsible for helping scores of individuals from the age of 4 years to 46 years in the format of a residential rehabilitation centre and school.

This was 2nd round of ration supply to Manvya Gokul, a home for HIV+ children, which offers a safe shelter, educational and vocational opportunities, nutritional diet and medical treatment and assistance (ART) for all their children. Gokul is situated in Bhugaon, very close to Pune city. Currently there are 57 children from age group of 1-18 years who now constitute as one big Gokul family. Manavya (Humanity in Marathi Language) is among the few pioneering Non-Government Organizations (NGO) in India, to understand the ramifications of HIV/AIDS outburst in India and to take necessary steps to rehabilitate the innocent children and women affected by this dreaded disease.
TSF volunteers visited this children home on 9th May, 2020 to provide for their needs.

PMC Corporator, Erandwane(Happy Colony) Mrs Madhuri Sahasrabudhe requested TSF Pune team to provide Ration kits to 30 underprivileged families(120 people) in Ganesh Nagar(Karve Nagar) area. These are primarily daily wager including some rickshaw drivers also. Due to 45+ days of nationwide lockdown they have no source of income left. On 11th May, 2020 ration kits were distributed in presence of Mrs Sahasrabudhe. Corporator thanked us for the support.

TSF team received request from 10 families for ration from three different areas of Pune, namely Sainath Nagar(1), Keshav Nagar(3) and Kondhwa(6). These families(40 people) are of dailywagers/househelps who have no source of income left now to sustain their families. For some, with little children at home it was difficult for them to procure ration from far off distribution sites. On 13th May, 2020 TSF volunteers distributed ration kits to sustain for 2 weeks.

This was 2nd round of ration supply to Maherwat old age home. First supply was provided in the first week of April this year. Maherwat Senior Citizen Home has been in service for 25+ years, with passion to provide comfortable and dignified years to seniors of society. On 16th May, 2020, TSF volunteers visited the old age home to provide for the requested ration supply for 15 people including the staff. Maherwat is also home to two cows who are happy to see visitors. TSF Pune team has supported Maherwat whenever the need arose.

TSF Pune team distributed ration kits to 275(1100 people) underprivileged families living in Vaishali Nagar and Bharat Nagar area of Pimpri on 17th May 20. These families had received some ration from other sources almost a month back, which now had got exhausted. Families were in dire need of ration supplies. Due to the pandemic situation, they do not have any source of income. RSS volunteers helped to identify the need and organize the distribution drive. Tokens with serial number were given to all beneficiary families an evening prior so that only token holders can claim the kit. It intermittently drizzled throughout the distribution, but it never poured heavily. There were around 25 Volunteers who helped, 13 from TSF Pune team.
The venue for distribution was provided by a generous couple Mrs. and Mr. Praveen Shetty who also helped with token distribution. Sudesh Gungekar, a local friend of Mr. Shetty, provided for onions, tomatoes and potatoes as an add on to our kit.
