In continuation of our assistance to Doctors and Health Care workers, we have provided 15 Reusable PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) kits to Primary Health Center, Wagholi. This was done on 17th April, 2020.
The project of assisting Doctors and Health Care Workers is being carried out in consultation with Senior Doctors in Pune.
TSF team received a request from Aniket situated in Bavdhan for ration supply. Aniket is specialty school that provides food and shelter to 55 differently abled children living in its campus. Aniket was started by Ms. Kalpana Varpe whose unfettered determination, hard work and selfless efforts are responsible for helping scores of individuals from the age of 4 years to 46 years in the format of a residential rehabilitation centre and school.
On 18th April, 2020 requested ration was provided for 55 children and 10 staff members

On 18th April, TSF team received a request from Dr. Sushma Date, pediatrician to provide help to Manvya Gokul, a home for HIV+ children, which offers a safe shelter, educational and vocational opportunities, nutritional diet and medical treatment and assistance (ART) for all resident children. Gokul is situated in Bhugaon(Pune outskirts), with supporting 57 children from age group of 1-18 years who now constitute as one big Gokul family.

Pune is one of the major COVID19 hotspots in the country and Pune Police is playing a huge role in ensuring the lock down gives the society expected results of curbing the spread of the COVID19 Virus and in the process they become extremely prone to get infected. With Pune being identified as red zone and being sealed completely from 20-27 April, 2020, TSF Pune team on 20th April, donated the protective kit comprising of 2100 masks, 750 pairs of gloves, and 20 bottles(500 ml each) of sanitizers to Pune Zone 3 DCP Poornima Gaikwad. Provisions would directly help more than 500 Pune Police personnel.
TSF Pune team had distributed dry ration to 10 auto rickshaw driver families(50 people in all) on 7th April to last for initially announced lockdown days. With the announcement of extended lockdown a repeat exercise of the distribution was conducted on 22nd April, 2020.

On 23rd April, 2020 TSF team distributed ration to 44 families(150+ people) in Bavdhan area. The team had received a request to help residents of Waghmare chawl, Bavdhan. Many families (which have both young children and senior citizens) need dry ration urgently. TSF team verified and validated the requirement of all families and listed 37 families. Another 7 nomadic families living in tents were identified from a nearby construction site. All these families are of daily wage laborers who have been put out of work due to the lockdown.

This was the 3rd of ongoing protective kits project by TSF Pune team. With the COVID19 cases rising in the city most of the medical staff is exposed to high risk COVID19 infection. On 25th April, 2020 TSF Pune gave protection gear to Dr. Mandhare at his Koregaon Park Clinic for distribution at other medical establishments
No. of beneficiaries: 100 personnel spread across Surya hospital, Wagholi Primary Health Center and Gajanan clinic.
Items included: 19 high quality reusable PPE kits, 100 N95 masks and 20 face shields
On 28th April, 2020 TSF Pune distributed 50 ration kits in Bavdhan area. 43 families were covered in Chandani Chowk area. 19 of these have been involved in watering the trees planted in and around Bavdhan Hills. They had not received any payments for a month and had very little left to suffice. The other 24 families are mostly housemaids, drivers, security guards, daily wagers and were also running out of ration. 7 ration kits were provided at Waghmare Chawl. 2 families + 10 individuals were running low on ration and had been skipped by TSF in the drive 5 days ago. They were provided for now. 200 people got served through this activity.

TSF Pune team received a request, a week before, from Teach For India(TFI) to help 35 families(175 people) in Ghorpade Peth area. TFI runs school centres at corporation or government schools from underprivileged families who cannot afford formal education. On 28th April, 2020 the distribution drive was conducted under the guidance of Tushar Jha from TFI. All neighbouring areas of Ghorpade Peth, being high risk COVID19 infected zones, have been cordoned off and logistics wise it was not easy to distribute. Population density is so high that social distancing is practically impossible in such areas. But other precautions of using masks and gloves are being followed.
