For the last so many weeks because of lockdown due to Covid-19, Mumbai has come to a standstill. This has stranded many migrant daily wage earners from Bengal, Bihar, UP and Jharkhand. They do not have any means to get food. The socially active TSF-MK has been procuring and providing supply of ration to be distributed to needy people in various areas of Mumbai. Today on 10th April, 2020 this drive was conducted in Dongri, Lokhand Bazar and Chandramani Buddha Vihar hutments near Kamathipura area. The ration kits included Wheat Atta 5kgs, Rice grains 5kgs, Toor Dal 1 kg, Salt 1 packet, Oil 1 litre and soap, to each family. These ration kits will feed around 1200 people in around 300 families for the next 15 days.
This mega distribution drive of a total of 3900kgs., has been supported and appreciated by the Deputy District Collector, Shri Vishwas Gujar. He had commissioned 3 volunteers from the government who assisted 2 volunteers each of TSF-MK and police personnel for ensuring systematic distribution at the 3 different sites. The distribution started at 3pm and concluded at 6pm.
