Summary of the Activity: This was round 2 of ration supply to Bholgiri Prathmik Vidyalya which is a corporation residential school aided and run by Renutai Gavaskar (Senior Social worker and president of Eklavya Nyasa). This residential school supports children of Commercial Sex Workers and underprivileged strata of society. Renutai Gavaskar has been waging a war against child trafficking, supports children from this specific part of the society throughout the year.

On 7th July, 2020 TSF volunteers visited Kondhwa 7th time since beginning of May, 2020 for ration distribution. Total of 180 families(720 people) were provided with ration kits in this visit. 22 families from Badhe Vasti, were provided ration for the second time.These 22 families were provided ration earlier on 29th May, 2020.

Whole of Kondhwa area is under extended lock down due to major Covid spread in almost all slums and chawls here. Locals are out of job and continue to need ration supply. TSF volunteer with support of local residents had distributed the coupons a day before to ease out the distribution process. Local residents helped in smooth distribution; four RSS volunteers also helped to manage the crowd which gathers very quickly in this area. Today’s target area constituted of mainly containment zones; Pune Police promptly gave us permission to carry out the activity.

65 families(260 people)received grocery kits from The Satsang Foundation on 15th July, 2020 belong to the Katkari community whose occupation mainly includes fishing, catching crabs from the nearby back waters and working in paddy fields on daily wages during sowing season. During this Covid pandemic imposed lockdown, they were unable to earn their daily wages or sell their catch.

During 2nd Day, 16th July 2020, of the Mulshi tribal village ration distribution, TSF provided for 60 families(240 people) in various rural areas. Volunteers went to the paddy fields to give away the kits and in a few places, kits were given door to door as well. Some areas were covered on foot as the vehicle could not negotiate the narrow-beaten paths. It was very satisfying to be there for these people when they needed the help the most.

TSF also provided 30 face shields to the primary health center to Dr. Varsha Patil.

Balance 25 Kits(from 15th and 16th July distribution program) distributed on 29th July 2020. Nandgav mulshi 13 kits for katkari tribe were distributed. Used clothes collected by Pune satsangis were also distributed. Children went away delighted with all the clothes that they received. Chikhalgaon mulshi - 12 kits for dogari dhangar tribe were distributed. This tribe lives on top of mountains and come down every morning with goats’ milk which is sold to transporters who in turn sell it to milk vendors. During the month of Shravan they sell leaves of Chaini plants which resemble banana leaves and are used in Pujas. Due to the prolonged lockdown there have been no buyers for both their items.

After our ration distribution 8-day drive in June with FPA in Pune for transgenders and people living with HIV, a few TGs approached us through a local social worker in PCMC area. List was verified by FPA again and we conducted the distribution on 30th July 2020 at three locations in PCMC.

46 TGs were provided raton kits. In addition, 5 needy families(20 people) were also supported
