This one time, I sat unmoving in front of my PC for an entire week reading these shitty-ass VNs, pausing only to begrudgingly attend to my basic bodily needs as required, and I ended that period as a broken, sobbing mess of a human being. That was about 9 years ago and I'm still experiencing PTSD-like symptoms from the experience. Would recommend putting yourself through the same - read the highest-rated VN of all time and enjoy the best the visual novel medium has to offer.

Top-notch worldbuilding as complex as a full-on TTRPG drives a dramatic and often political plot, most notably in the best parts of Alternative. The protagonist's gradual growth across the trilogy is worth particular praise.

A long three part journey that will make you feel all sorts of emotions. You will experience Takeru's growth as he makes mistakes and learns from them. You will empathize with him as he faces the cruel reality in front of him. Great production values that still hold up sell to this day. A must read for sci-fi fans.

Mostly because of Alternative. Extra exists to show where our hero came from in order to serve as a contrast to Ultimate and Alternative. Extra and Ultimate serve to introduce the characters and the setting. Alternative is where the bomb drops and things go to another level.

Excellent character development, very good and poignant thematic depth, fun comedy, and very emotionally engaging during its best parts. Amazing production values and their usage (moving first-person camer, sprite, backgrounds, and sound effect dynamism...) helps evoke a very high level of immersion. Really feels like the reader is right there with the protagonist as he goes through a total roller coaster of a journey.

"this fucking vn made me ptsd, the story have a lot of infodump but if you know the context, you will enjoy the story more. the sound, voice, art is really good even this vn was develop in 2000s . the political and life and death drama is well balanced, all of character are lovable and would made you cry when they dies. if you are fan of real robot and political, you shouldn’t miss this trilogy."
