If you want a visual novel that's pure over the top comedy, this is one of the prime recommendations I go to and it's also my personal favorite visual novel ever. There are lot of great characters, male and female, and some notable main personalities which include: your obsessive perverted childhood friend, a foreigner who makes her entrance riding a horse, and a lot of females with power levels that match their boob sizes. There are also some surprisingly deep themes you wouldn't expect like what true friendship is and deciding what to do for your future.

Majikoi's comedy is very unique, focusing a lot on many characters' quirks and their interactions with each other. There's a lot of characters in general, but the main focus is on the childhood friend group, the Kazama Family. Despite the general light-hearted comedic nature there's still a decent focus on character development and the main group interactions.

If you are a fan of large cast comedies, then Majikoi is for you. Including the entire series, the cast breaches the 100 mark, but every character is so zany, so absurdly memorable you couldn't possibly forget them. As you keep reading, the story only gets crazier, the jokes funnier, and the characters more endearing. Truly one of the best comedies you'll read.

Larger-than-life cast with a ridiculous comedic atmosphere that can be a surprisingly serious romance story at times.

A massive cast of high pedigree voice actors come together for a relentless comedy full of content. In spite of just how insane the humour can get, it still has its fair share of moments worth taking seriously.

It is hilarious. You've got super strong girls, a wide circle of friends, and they run about doing vigilante stuff when they aren't just having fun. When you're not laughing you're probably getting sucked into the action of some big fight. Also has the most ridiculous "escape from captivity after being kidnapped" scenes I've ever seen.
