There's a reason people say it came before Doki Doki Literature Club, but did it better. It gets a lot darker, deeper, and creepier than DDLC. The two main heroines and their role was quite interesting and the story gives you good reasons to back either by the end.

Has a purpose in mind and achieves it to the best of its ability. If you're familiar with the medium's conventions, you'll want to play it at some point.

A very hard VN to recommend without giving away what makes it so interesting. For anybody familiar with the genre, it will almost certainly leave an impression.

A unique VN that takes advantage of eroge tropes to subvert expectations. Very short, but it's use of meta dialogue and fourth wall breaking make it a one-of-a-kind experience.

I've not finished yet but so far I've enjoyed theorizing and am curious to see if I've hit the mark or not with my big theory... If I have, or if I haven't but the answers turn out to be similarly or even more satisfying, then I'll say the plotting/mystery is really good. Also a very high number of CGs.

Totono is a meta visual novel, which some have enjoyed tremendously, and others have been turned off by to a degree. I personally belong to the former group. It’s best experienced with as little knowledge beforehand as possible, which in turn makes saying anything besides “It’s good” pretty much a spoiler. However, I will say that the work pretty much demands you to pay attention to it and if you’re looking for a VN where you can turn your brain off, you’re better off looking elsewhere.
