One of the best in the genre, Subahibi will change your life and the way you look at the world and life itself. A flawless combination of inspiring philosophy and nauseating horror and dread. I don't know how Sca-DI, the writer, managed to take philosophy one could spend a lifetime digesting and portrayed it in a way anyone could understand, but somehow he did just that. This novel truly has infinite depth; no matter how many times I look at it, there is always something new to be learned. Do be warned, if you are not good with horror, especially of a sexual kind, proceed with caution.

SubaHibi is just as beautiful as it can be gruesome, sometimes both in otherworldly combinations. At times it went a bit too much into a "being cruel for the sake of it" direction or tried to seem too smart with references, but this is balanced out by some incredibly poignant moments. It manages to create a very surreal atmosphere that dives into extremely complex emotions I cannot even begin to describe, so I highly recommend this VN for these moments alone. Don't be fooled by the first two hours, the VN will be a lot different afterwards.

A mix of horror, denpa and philosophical stuff by SCA-JI and KeroQ. Can't say a lot about this game without spoiling, but if you want something different from your average VN, then Subahibi will be one hell of a ride, with every chapter unraveling a new layer of the story. Be careful: the game deals with stuff like bestiality, rape, high-schooler drug abuse, bullying and other "fun" stuff, so if you absolutely can't stomach it, Subahibi will be a hard pass for you.

A VN that defies your expectations in several ways. It's focus on dark themes, unreliable narrators and philosophical commentary will keep you thinking about it well after you've finished it.

[spoilers retracted]. It likes to reference philosophical and other works, most notably Tractatus. True ending throws a big wrench in trying to understand precisely what happened, but overall it's still a good VN. It's a real wild ride that can get pretty dark and messed up at times.

In my opinion Subahibi can only be labelled as a one-of-a-kind experience that can’t really be described meaningfully. You’ll just have to experience it yourself. It features content so extreme that many of the fucked-up stuff you’ve seen will look tame in comparison, but also some absolutely gorgeous moments. People have spent months studying its themes, characters, and references, but it’s equally possible to just hop in for the ride and enjoy the story as it is. I don’t think I will ever experience something like this again, and if you think you can stomach it, I highly encourage you to give it a go.
