"The quintessential starter VN. If you are looking for a novel as someone who has never read any visual novels before, most people will point you to this one, and for good reason. It counters its potentially offensive-seeming premise and the preconceptions of the visual novel genre with a heatwarming story that will compel you to seek out more stories to replicate this experience. Its cozy setting and fantastic soundtrack make for a nostalgic story, even after dozens (or hundreds) of novels read. KS will shift your view of both disabilities and the visual novel genre as a whole. "
Many people's first visual novels and how they got into the genre. A simple but surprisingly deep and emotional story which essentially humanizes people with disabilities. Has a good mix of romance, comedy, and drama to help you figure out which genres you'd like to get more into going forward. Just keep in mind there's no voice acting.
Everything in this game, from the soft music of the main menu to the art, is soothing and relaxing. It's definitely a great read, especially if you're looking for a way to change your mind from the bad thoughts of the day !
God-tier deconstruction of VN romance tropes. Heroines have nuanced relationships that deal with atypical problems.
It's an interesting and unique setting made by a bunch of people from 4chan of all places. The romance isn't half bad and there is some great humor in it. Kenji is a bro when he isn't being absolutely hilarious. Also, Emi is best girl, save her for last.
