Walking in two worlds but truly belonging to neither, half-elves combine what some say are the best qualities of their elf and human parents: human curiosity, inventiveness, and ambition tempered by the refined senses, love of nature, and artistic tastes of the elves. Some half-elves live among humans, set apart by their emotional and physical differences, watching friends and loved ones age while time barely touches them. Others live with the elves, growing restless as they reach adulthood in the timeless elven realms, while their peers continue to live as children. Many half-elves, unable to fit into either society, choose lives of solitary wandering or join with other misfits and outcasts in the adventuring life.
You have a walking speed of 30ft
Your size is Medium
Your creature type is Humanoid (Elf)
Races that are not Large nor have an innate flying speed gain an extra Feat of their choice. This Feat must be a "Full Feat".
Your character can speak, read, and write Common and two other languages that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character.
You gain 4 ability points to increase any abilities of your choice. You can't increase a single ability by more than 2 with these points.
Thanks to your elf blood, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
You gain two skill proficiencies of your choice. You can choose to forgo the skill proficiencies and instead take a trait based on your elf parentage:
Aquatic Elf
Gain a swimming speed equal to your walk speed.
Drow
You know the dancing lights cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the faerie fire spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.
You use your Spell Save DC or Mastery Save DC (your choice) for these spells. If you have a class feature that allows you to learn spells, you count these spells as known by that class. You always have them learned or prepared, and they don’t count against the number of spells you can learn or prepare.
High Elf
You learn one cantrip from the Wizard spell list,
or you gain proficiency with the longsword, shortsword, shortbow, and longbow.
Wood Elf
Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet,
or you can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
