Starting at 2nd level, you learn to raise and control the dead. As an action, you can choose a point within 30ft of you and cause Four Undead Thralls to form in unoccupied spaces as close to that point as possible. They use the Undead Thrall stat block below and follow your verbal commands. They last until you finish a long rest when they turn to dust.
Once you have used this feature you cannot do so again unless you spend one or more hit dice, reducing your maximum health by an amount equal to one roll of those hit dice to form 4 Undead Thralls per hit die spent. You can never have more than 4 Undead thralls at a time, and if you create more, the oldest thralls turn to dust. You regain the use of this feature as well as any hit points lost from this feature once you finish a long rest.
The number of thralls you initially summon, as well as the number you can control at once increase as you reach higher levels. You bring forth and can control up to 8 Thralls at 5th level, 12 Thralls at 9th level, 16 Thralls at 13th level, and 20 Thralls at 17th level.
A shambling horde of zombies, a choir of ghostly spirits, or a lurking clutter of skeletons, Undead Thralls serve their master with no regard for their own safety, swarming over foes and dragging them down. Although they lack strength on their own, they can defend their master long enough for deadly magics to take hold.

Undead Minion. The Undead Thrall is bound to your will and clings to it's animation. it has the following traits:
If the Thrall takes damage from an attack or as the result of a failed saving throw, it becomes Bloodied.
If the Thrall takes damage from an effect other than an attack roll or saving throw, it becomes Bloodied if the damage equals or exeeds its hit point maximum or it dies if the damage equals or exceeds twice its hit point maximum. otherwise, it takes no damage.
If the Thrall would become Bloodied while it already has the condition, it instead dies.
When 4 or less Thralls attack the same target, they make one attack roll, gaining a +1 to hit for each Thrall participating. on a hit they all deal damage.
Shifting Throng allied creatures can enter and occupy a space occupied by an Undead Thrall. When they do the undead thrall moves into the space that the ally vacated without provoking opportunity attacks.
Mindless Thrall The Thrall cannot wield weapons, wear armor, or take any action besides Grasp of the Dead.

Grasp of the Dead. Group Melee Weapon Attack: Spellcasting Modifier to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 bludgeoning damage, and the target loses 10ft of movement for each Thrall that participated in the attack.
Starting at 6th level when you cast a spell that deals damage, you can deal Necrotic damage rather than the normal damage type of the spell
In addition, once per turn when you use Necrotic damage or an Undead you control to kill a creature that isn't an Elemental, Construct, Undead, or Ooze you can cause one of the following effects:
Animate Dead - if the creature was medium or small, it becomes an Undead Thrall.
Hunger for Life - You and each Undead you control gain Temporary hit points equal to your Spellcasting Modifier.
Corpse Explosion - each non-Undead creature within 5ft of the target must make a Constitution saving throw or take Necrotic damage equal to your Spellcasting modifier.
Beginning at 10th level, you have spent so much time dealing with undead and the forces that animate them that you have become inured to some of their worst effects. You have immunity to necrotic damage, you cannot be possessed, and any reduction to your max health is halved. If you are draining your maximum health to power an effect, such as with the Life Transference spell, You can count as having taken the full reduction for that effect even when you take half.
Starting at 14th level, you can sacrifice your thralls to protect yourself. When you take damage you can use your reaction to make one of your thralls take that damage instead.
