Academic Statement
As Adjunct Professor teaching information literacy, my mission is to help students develop the specific skills they need to succeed as library professionals, working in public libraries and/or embedded in communities; to provide them with real life experiences through practice and research; to foster their confidence so they are prepared when they graduate as a Library Information Specialist.
As the Admissions and Career Service Advisor for the Queens College Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, I believe that providing accurate, timely, and relevant information in a compassionate manner and empowering individuals to make well-informed decisions are the hallmarks of quality advising, and this belief shapes how I interact with students as well as colleagues.
