Academic Statement
My approach to teaching is to focus on the practical aspects and issues that prove useful in day to day librarianship and provide skills that the future librarian will use or may use soon after graduation. I encourage dialogue rather than pure lecture and include discussions on the customer service philosophy and skills necessary in our profession. Each semester I bring in guest speakers to share their background and professional experiences and advice with our students.
