LBSCI 795: Internship Course

The purpose of LBSCI 795 (the GSLIS Internship course) is to provide GSLIS students with a structured opportunity to work with a practicing library/information specialist, or archivist, in order to gain valuable hands-on work experience. Of vital importance is the maintenance of a positive link between the GSLIS faculty and those who are professional practitioners in the field.

The primary goal of the Internship course is to provide GSLIS students with the opportunity to apply their theoretical and practical knowledge gained in their courses to actual work experience while under the supervision of both faculty and a professional practitioner. A secondary goal is to facilitate learning through the use of technology in a digital environment.
