Intervention: Advocacy and Education
Occupational therapists can advocate for clients to change others attitudes about mental health and the stigma that may come along with it. The advocacy should be used in environments that the clients is surrounded by to help them engage in meaningful occupations such as work, school, or home life. This will overall increase awareness to those surrounded by the idea that there is a negative stigma about others mental health, and hopefully change their beliefs to a more positive and encouraging environment.
