Eating disorders are disturbances in eating patterns that stem from an intense fear of being overweight and a preoccupation with the perception of one's own weight. The three main types are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.

Diagnosis & Population: Children, Teens, Young Adults
Instructions & Materials: Magazines, scissors, tape and a background platform to tape the cutouts on. Cut out images and words from magazines that represent positive aspects of their body image.
Purpose: To facilitate exploration and acceptance of their body image by creating a visual of how they perceive their body.
Rationale & Impact on Function: This helps with self-acceptance and challenging their negative body image thoughts. This also supports body positivity and becoming comfortable in their own skin.
