Intervention: Sensory Play
Diagnosis and Population: Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in children of a variety of ages 3-12
Purpose: Increase a children's development and regulate their responses to sensory information including cognitive, emotional, physical and social development.
Rationale & Impact on Function: Sensory play will help improve motor-planning, social skills, coordination and sequencing. It also give children a fun way to interact with their environment.

Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder tend to feel more lonely than their peers, and music helps decrease that stress and feeling of anxiety. Music encourages interaction with peers, which ultimately leads to improvement in social skills. Using this intervention allows children with ASD to feel safe in their environment and develop coping skills for issues they may experience in the outside world. It is best used in the early stages of development, when they are first learning how to interact with their environment and caregivers.

Diagnosis and Population: Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, typically used in young adults or adults who need assistance in planning daily activities and staying organized.
Purpose: Regulate nervous system and prevent over-stimulation when engaging in daily environments/activities. Helps these individuals deal with uncertainty and anxiety that confronts them in daily life.
Rationale & Impact on Function: Reinforce a feeling of well-being. It creates a way to comfort themselves and have better self-regulation. It gives them structure to feel calm.
