Neurocognitive Disorder is a syndrome resulting from the conditions of the brain that affect cognition and impacts participation and performance in daily activities. Tends to occur more in women than men around the age of 65. Some onset could occur across the lifespan.

Diagnosis & Population: Dementia diagnosis in patients over the age of 65.
Purpose: Allows dementia patients to tap into their their long term memory and think about pleasurable experiences.
Instructions: The setting should be noise free and avoid bringing in any interruptions. It should represent a safe space and promote confidence and boost self-esteem. Social participation should be encouraged.
Rationale & Impact on Function: Memory could enhance overall quality of life and think in a positive manner, leaving a positive impact on their mental health.
