Let Her Cry - My version of Hootie & the Blowfish
I sit alone by a lamp post
Tryin' to find the thought that's escaped my mind
I say, "Dad's the one I love the most, But your not far behind"
I’ll never let you in, only tell you about where I’ve been
When I’ve had too much to drink
I say that I don't care, I just run my hands through my hair
Then I pray to God you gotta help me fly away
This morning I woke up alone, found a note standing by the phone
Sayin', "Maybe, maybe I'll be back someday"
I tried to look for you, And when you walked in, I didn't know what to do
So I sat down and had a beer and felt sorry for myself
Sayin' let her cry if the tears fall down like rain
Let her sing if it eases all her pain
Let her go, let her walk right out on me
And if the sun comes up tomorrow, let her be, let her beÂ
[Verse 4]
Last night I tried to leave, cried so much I could not believeÂ
She was the same girl I fell in love with long agoÂ
I went in the back to get high, Then I sat down on my couch and cried,Â
"Oh, Lord, you gotta help me get out of here….
Let her cry   if the tears fall down like rain
Let her sing  if it eases all her pain
Let her go   let her walk right out on me
And if the sun comes up tomorrow, let her be
