Behind the Screen: Nyack Influencers
Here at Nyack, there are numerous friend groups who enjoy sharing their everyday adventures on social media. Some, in particular, take to Instagram to broadcast their unique friend group experiences. During an interview with senior and junior friend groups Jesus Eats, Seven Deadly Sins, Milopiabbely, and the Stone Cold Pillars, members shared a little more about what it’s like to be social media influencers.
Ron DeSantis’s recent announcement of his candidacy for the presidency has generated significant debate among political observers. While some view him as a promising contender, a closer examination of DeSantis's track record reveals a series of troubling actions and policies that raise serious doubts about his suitability for the highest office in the land.

Culinary Corner:
Rose Milk and Strawberry Smoothie
This is what I make for breakfast when I’m not particularly hungry in the morning but know I need to prepare my belly for a stretch of activity before lunchtime. It’s substantial enough to make me feel satiated, but it lightens my senses rather than weighing them. In other words, you’ll feel grounded but also blossoming.

Simply The Best: The Life and Legacy of Tina Turner
Tina Turner, a musical icon nicknamed the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll", passed away on May 23, 2023. She will not be remembered just for her music, but also for her perseverance through discrimination and abuse.
Turner started her vocal career with the band Kings of Rhythm, where she performed with future husband Ike Turner. Together, they produced some of her greatest hits, such as “A Fool in Love.” But when she suggested separating, their relationship took a dark turn. Ike Turner was physically abusive, unfaithful, and had serious substance abuse problems. Tina Turner suffered greatly throughout this entire relationship, even attempting suicide in 1968.
Mr. Mattsen’s Journey to Teaching
You’re on a beach. It’s night time and the sea breeze brushes against your face and through your hair. Your nose is pointed up as your naturally curious child self gazes at the stars in the clear sky. You’re waiting. Suddenly, a bright ball of light comes tumbling through the sea of stars. Fire surrounds all of its sides as it glows brightly for just a second and quickly fades. This abrupt visit from a piece of space debris leaves you with wide eyes and a new appreciation for worlds beyond Earth. This is the moment Mr. Mattsen knew he wanted to pursue the field of science.

A Letter to You, Underclassman
Dear Underclassman,
It is rare for me to address you personally in an editorial, but as I sit down to write such an emotional letter, I am compelled to share my heartfelt thoughts – from me, alone. I cannot pretend to be wise: I still feel like a kid, and I think I have sufficiently stumbled my way through high school. But I have learned a few things in my time here, and I’d like to share them with you now in the hopes of easing your journey just a little bit.
