Here at Nyack, there are numerous friend groups who enjoy sharing their everyday adventures on social media. Some, in particular, take to Instagram to broadcast their unique friend group experiences. During an interview with senior and junior friend groups Jesus Eats, Seven Deadly Sins, Milopiabbely, and the Stone Cold Pillars, members shared a little more about what it’s like to be social media influencers.
The members of Jesus Eats met in the 7th and 8th grade. “We’ve been a pretty solid friend group for a long time. Most of us met in the 7th grade, and we added some members along the way,” said Nina Petrou (senior). Most of the Seven Deadlies met in 8th grade, solidifying their group sophomore year. Milopiabbely formed in the 10th grade after group members and longtime best friends Milo Delia and Ely Hope joined forces with Sophia Baumes and Gabbie Monterey. Members of the Stone Cold Pillars have known each other since elementary school, and while not all of them were closely knit early on, throughout middle and high school, “the pieces just aligned for us. It was like divine right,” said Freddie Hurson (junior).

Many wonder what inspired these influencers to go public. For Jesus Eats, it started when current member Nina Petrou was inspired by her incredibly flavorful breakfast and suggested the group create a food review account on Instagram.
“We should have an account where we showcase all the good food we eat because we’re always talking about food!” she exclaimed.
The Seven Deadlies were inspired by a social media account run by seniors Rose Gordan, Brenda McCormac, and Mia Duffy. They run what many know to be a “photo dump account” on Instagram where they upload a variety of humorous photos, often without context or rationale.
Milopiabbely took their inspiration from the Seven Deadlies. “A silly edit of Milo is definitely what got us started and boosted our account,” they told Spectrum.
The Pillars were quick to share that they were the first of the four social media accounts. “It was our calling. We knew the world needed to experience us,” said Hurson. The Stone Cold Pillars officially launched on March 27, 2022 with a group photo of the boys sledding on a snow day.
Each group is original in what they share with their followers. Jesus Eats shares daily food reviews, often referring to their meals as “buss”, derived from the word “bussin”, meaning “extremely delicious”. Members rate their food on a scale from one to “buss”.

This account has brought the group closer as they’ve ventured out to try new foods and review them together. Current member Janice Yohannan shared, “I think we’ve opened up a space for our followers to discuss and suggest some of their favorite foods. We accept food submissions and share others’ food reviews too. It’s fun to see the variety of foods people eat in their everyday lives.”
As for the Seven Deadlies, they described their style of content as “transparent. We show our true selves,” said Deadly Meetii Tufa. The Seven Deadly Sins post many interactive games for their followers to enjoy. One is called “Who Said What?!”where a quote from one the Deadlies is posted and followers have to guess which member said it.
Milopiabbely posts “whatever comes to mind. We keep it real; the best way to describe our account is ‘fever dream,” said Sophia Baumes (junior). The group has also hosted a convention where they crafted ceramic creatures with their fans and distributed homemade merchandise.
The Stone Cold Pillars describe their account as “original, creative, and a lit, crazy movie.” The boys share livestreams, vlogs, Instagram reels, and polls with their fans. Their content mostly consists of sports updates and political campaigns within the group, as they elected Jackson Martinez as Leader of the Pillars back in March after a short-lived campaign and quick voting period. Under Martinez’s reign, the group shared a new event they will be hosting called “Caged Logan”. Hurson said, “Many people don’t know Logan [Distefano] as well as we do and I think this will allow people to see the real wild side of him.” Distefano is a longtime member of the Pillars and seems very excited for the group’s upcoming plans. More information on this event will be provided by the Pillars on their Instagram page.

When asked what they enjoy most about sharing their friend group experiences with their fans, Jesus Eats shared that their account creates a community for food lovers, inspires people to try new foods, and supports local businesses. The Seven Deadlies enjoy promoting self love by expressing themselves genuinely and spreading good vibes all around. Milopiabbely loves spreading silliness and positivity in a world that can feel heavy at times.
“Sometimes all people really need is a laugh,” said Sophia Baumes.
The Pillars emphasize the importance of friendship by showing their support for one another. “They’re my ride or dies,”said Hurson.
As the school year comes to a close and summer begins, we look forward to what the groups have in store for their fans!
