When I heard the news, I was actually in a Zoom class. While someone was presenting, another student unmuted and told us Joe Biden had just gained enough electoral votes to be president. Everyone on the call had an emotional reaction and began celebrating, crying, and completely forgetting that we were in class. Luckily, we were recording the zoom call, so we will have our live reactions to keep forever! Some Nyack High School students shared their election day stories as well...

“My holiday quarantine plans are to be with my family as much as possible. My family is one that loves to be together and loves to have fun. Whenever there is an obstacle that would normally keep us apart, we always find an alternative because that’s how much family means to us. We enjoy each other’s presence and we love to bring joy to each other through games, food, and music. I can’t wait for another family get-together.” - Marlon Prince, senior

Each grade’s elected student council picks a winter theme and gets one afternoon to turn their assigned school hallway into a winter wonderland, if you will. From Aloha-holiday to Polar Express to The Grinch, we have seen some great themes throughout the years. Unfortunately, it won’t be possible for us to decorate all together in school this year, but the student government has come up with some great ways to keep the holiday spirit alive.
