Congratulations! You've made it through almost an entire year of virtual/in-person learning and are just a few weeks away from summer break! New York has eased its mask and social distancing mandates, and by the time this school year ends most NHS students will be fully vaccinated. The big question is, will our summer plans revert to what they originally were, or will they continue to be altered by the impact associated with COVID? To gain some insight, I've received feedback from two freshmen, Heywete Casimiro and Roman Nicolich.

As the school year comes to an end and summer is fast approaching, feelings of sweet nostalgia sweep through the seniors’ minds. Especially with two “normal” school years lost, the cliche of wondering where all the time went is even more real. To celebrate and commemorate the class of ‘21, we interviewed some seniors about their time at Nyack and asked any advice they would give to their freshman selves.

Having almost completed a full school year of virtual learning, people 12 years and older have fortunately been approved to get vaccinated. This brings about new opportunities to return to pre-pandemic life. However, there is a great reckoning among this time of slowly descending mishap; a communal questioning about the present and future. With this in mind, I collected and analyzed the opinions of Nyack High School students about the new and unfamiliar vaccine.

When I first found out that I would start my freshman year of high school online I was happy. I would get to do all of my work in the comfort of my own home, just as I imagined when I begged my parents to allow me to do this before. But my utopia slowly turned into prison.
