Myths of Arcana was established to be a safe and inviting place for writers and artists of all backgrounds. While we aim to provide a warm environment, the group is run under a strict code of conduct in order to keep that positive and healthy atmosphere. All Members, Visitors, and Moderators are to abide by the rules and guidelines listed here, failure to do so can result in warnings and/or bans from the server and group.
MoA is an 18+ group. We do not wish to have the responsibility of regulating minors to age appropriate content. This does not mean that 18+ content will be on display with no regulations. There are guidelines for what is appropriate content to share in the server in order to make this a comfortable environment for all.
MoA is an ally of neurodivergent people, the LGBTQ+ community, and stands with people from all ethnic backgrounds. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
MoA is a relaxed slice of life/exploration/dark fantasy themed group with an underlying plot used to keep things interesting and to create a vivid roleplaying experience. With our 18+ rating, drama, violence, and mature themes are to be expected. The Moderator Team will provide trigger warnings for group events that host darker themes, and asks group Members to provide adequate warnings for any darker content submitted to the group, character applications included. We do not intend to focus on any particular themes, such as horror, gore, abuse etc. to a critical extent.

➤ Avoid discussing uncomfortable topics. Be conscientious of others when conversing in the server. Use your best judgment for what constitutes sensitive or uncomfortable topics. If others in the chatroom aren’t enjoying the direction of conversation, consider changing the topic before the Moderators step in and do it for you.
➤ To insure that the chatroom retains a safe environment, the server has a designated emoji for topic changing purposes. This emoji is only to be used in situations where one is uncomfortable with a topic being discussed and would like the conversation to shift without being questioned.
➤ Be mindful of what you are posting and where. Keep content in the correct server channels and read their descriptions. If you aren’t sure if something is appropriate to share, keep it in DMs.
➤ Spoilers for media such as video games, movies, tv shows etc. require a spoiler tag for a two month period post release date. Once the two months have passed you are not required to spoiler tag it.
➤ Advertising other roleplay groups or servers is discouraged. Sharing or discussing content from your outside interests is perfectly fine, but unsolicited advertising of other platforms is to be avoided in the server.
➤ Do not be afraid to ask any questions, but before you do double check any relevant material to see if your question is answered there. If you are still unable to locate an answer, the Moderator Team is here for you.
➤ The Moderator Team is made up of volunteers. We request you give us a week’s grace period for any updates, changes, or edits in group functions. If it has been more than a week since you completed an action that requires a Moderator, feel free to give us a reminder in case something got lost.
➤ Please update us to any username changes or account moving! We want to make sure we keep your inventories and our corresponding documents updated.
➤ Avoid directing group specific questions/concerns to one singular Moderator. The Moderator Team functions as a whole and is here to help everyone. Send notes to the group on dA, or post your concerns in the appropriate server channels rather than DMing the Moderators’ personal accounts.
➤ If you have a concern you would like to discuss in private or feel more comfortable bringing up an issue with a specific Moderator, we are happy to make arrangements for you.
➤ There are no activity checks in the group, only interest checks. If you are unable to meet an interest check we soft lock your inventory and group participation till you are able to meet the requirements to be a fully active member again.
➤ If you are considering taking a break from group activities you are able to go on hiatus. Your inventory will not be locked, but you will be barred from participating in group events and activities. You may come off of hiatus whenever you wish. In general, a hiatus/group break should only be requested when you would like to go three weeks or more without participating in the group.
➤ To request to be added to the NSFW Channel, you must first be a group Member. The chatroom is locked by default for everyone. Please ask for the designated roll if you so desire.

➤ Do not share photos of yourself in a sexual context in the NSFW chats.
➤ We ask that heavy kinks/fetishes are treated with care. The Moderator team will decline characters if we suspect they are solely a fetish character, meaning a character created for the explicit purpose of being sexualized only.
➤ Characters may have kinks and fetishes, so long as the particular kink or fetish is not illegal or abusive.
➤ If a particular fetish or kink makes many people uncomfortable, the Moderator Team will bar that topic completely from being discussed in the server.
➤ Consent is our number one priority here, if someone does not wish to engage with a fellow Member or character in a sexual manner they have every right to do so, and should not be harassed or bullied for their boundaries. There are other people sharing the same space as you, and have every right to feel comfortable in said space.
➤ Pedophillia or Zoophillia will not be tolerated. Characters, animals, and real people that are underage, meaning under 18 years of age, are not to be sexualized or mentioned in the NSFW chatroom. ➤ Moderators will put Members on Sensitive Topic chat probation if they are disregarding these rules or are making other chat participants uncomfortable.
➤ All members participating in a roleplay must respect the boundaries, plans, and intended outcomes of all other parties involved in the roleplay.
➤ If a roleplay is already underway in a chatroom and you would like to join in, please ask the other participants if it is alright for you to do so first.
➤ If you would like to add drama to a roleplay be sure that the other participants are okay with the direction you are wishing to take the roleplay. Don’t add drama just for drama’s sake.
➤ If something is getting a bit too dramatic, Moderators may step in and ask the participants to simmer down, or to take the roleplay to dms.
➤ Members and Moderators are expected to separate their personal feelings from the feelings of their characters. It is very inappropriate to use your character to push an agenda/ideology, bully another member, or to use your character as a puppet to voice OOC implications or feelings. This is classified as harassment, and will not be tolerated.
➤ Powerplaying and/or god-modding is not allowed and will not be tolerated.

➤ Consider “@”-ing the person you are roleplaying with in order for them to easily follow your posts in the server.
➤ Use the OOC chatroom to communicate with your roleplay partners. This helps keep the roleplay chatrooms clear of any OOC talk.
➤ The Moderators are free to close and reopen chatrooms that have ongoing roleplays in them if they have been idle for three days. You are welcome to continue any closed roleplays in DMs.
➤ Sometimes roleplays don’t go as planned, or some sort of miscommunication happens. Talk with your roleplay partners or with the Moderators if some sort of unwanted issue pops up.
➤ Please make sure to read the provided resources and documents carefully, don’t be afraid to ask questions if you have any.
➤ To submit your new character for approval, all you need to do is post a link to your characters application in the App Submission chatroom on the Discord server. A moderator will get back to you if any edits or changes are needed.
➤ Once you submit your request to join the group, or submit a new character for approval, please do not continue to edit your application. You are more than welcome to correct grammatical errors or spelling mistakes, but please do not edit your character’s core personality, history, magic portrayal, or design elements. This is to prevent confusion on the Moderator’s end when we review applications.
➤ If you desire to add a new character to your roster, double check your character cool down, double check if the Moderator Team is open for application reviews, and make sure to have any required creation/design items present in your inventory by the time of submission.
➤ If the moderator team gets back to you with a critique and/or requests edits be made, you may update any needed information on the application so we may look it over once again.
➤ MoA does not tolerate tracing from other artists, or plagiarism from other writers. You are more than welcome to use references, 3D models, and other tools of the trade to make your artwork so long as you provide credit for the assets you are using.
➤ If it is discovered you are stealing another creator’s work the Moderators are at liberty to ban you from the group.
➤ If you have sensitive content portrayed in your works you must provide content warning(s) for your work and spoiler tag it if you wish to share it in the group server.
➤ If someone is offering requests to feature characters in their written work or offering to draw characters, please do not hog the slots. If you have had a character featured or drawn by another member recently, please allow others to have a chance as well.
➤ As a courtesy, please wait at least 5-10 minutes before posting artwork/literature after someone else, this includes all art/prose based chatrooms. That way the previous Member has time for everyone to see their work before you share yours. It is heavily encouraged to comment on and compliment the work posted before yours.
