Home of the Rosarian Royal Family, Caledonia Proper is the ancestral and present day capital of the empire. The city is located on a lush plain between two rivers. On the east most border, the Devil's Backbone circles the city before slowly transitioning into Raygar's Reach, which takes over the southern border. Caledonia is a port city, as the capital has the Sea of Mazarine through it's two rivers.
The city is full of historic buildings, museums, and has a thriving artistic culture. Caledonia has a very rich and opulent air to it, only the finest of items are imported here. The city also plays host to most of the government buildings, including the Rose Palace and Caladium Court. It houses multiple noble families and their lesser vassal houses as well.
Caledonia is dripping with posh landscaping and lush greenery, roses are the predominant flower displayed.
The city of Swanford is cradled between a river and the Sea of Mazarine. It is a canal based city, with bikes being the second main form of transportation. Swanford is the major port city of Caledonia Proper, shipping and supplying goods to both Rosarian Fields & the Capital.
The city has an elegant and refined atmosphere, with neatly decorated streets and practical landscaping. The winters are warm enough that the canals don't freeze over. Swanford was designed to be a functional and desirable place to live and work.
The oldest of the three cities in Caledonia Proper, it is located in between a river and the Devil's Backbone. It features a lush landscape with stone based buildings, usually covered in vines and flowers.
The city has a tranquil and sleepy atmosphere, complimenting it's historic streets & environment. Many wealthy families often holiday here over the summer. The Rosarian Fields don't excel at a particular trade, it is mainly a merchant trade based city with emphasis on the legal and historical world.
An unexplored and impenetrable ring of steep cliffs and sheer peaks. What lay beyond the mountains that tore open the sky had long since been a mystery, till a once in a lifetime expedition discovered Goldenrod Valley.
The mountains are in-hospitable, as it is impossible for anyone to live on it's sheer cliffs. While colonists to Goldenrod Valley make a regular expedition through the peaks, most people are told to stay away. Too many people have lost their lives in those mountains, never to be seen or heard from again.
The newest expansion project of the Caledonian Empire, Goldenrod Valley is a beacon of hope to society. With strong magical energy humming through it's very air, it is easy to see why so many people are intrigued by the valley's potential, despite the dangers and isolation.
It has a budding township currently set up with plans for further modernization and expansion. Along with research programs for it's unique magical properties. Only time will tell how the last Arcane touched place on Terr-Oryn will develop.
A mysterious land locked sea that borders Raygar's Reach. It has been impossible for anyone to sail through it due to the thick and heavy clouds that lie on it's surface. Every ship launched has always come back merely a few hours later. The crews all share the same story, exclaiming they had never turned around and had been sailing for days.
Strangely enough, Goldenrod Valley borders the Sea of Clouds as well, but the impenetrable fog is absent. The water is rather salty, and is filled with fish and fauna.
An island lost in the Sea of Clouds, it was only recently discovered by the original settlers of Goldenrod Valley.
It's a rather large island, with multiple deep, crystalline pools of water and elaborate cave systems. The Island of the Moon is covered with many ancient ruins & temples.
This suggests that an ancient culture was aware of Goldenrod Valley and it's general locations, further study is required by the government to understand what magic and history we have lost to time.
The tallest mountain peak in the entirety of Caledonia, it has been visible since long before Raygar's Reach was finally explored.
At a certain time of day, depending on the weather, the sun reflects off the mountain peak, causing it to shine with a brilliant golden glow. This act of nature is what gave the mountain it's name.
Urban legend declares this to be the home of the gods on Terr-Oryn, whether or not that is true remains to be seen. The mountain was thought to be inaccessible, but explorers from Goldenrod Valley are hard at work to see if the peak can be summited.
Mount Arcane has also been a known landmark since before the exploration of Raygar's Reach.
It is thought to be a cold, desolate place, where wind swirls violently, judging by the observation's of it's local weather. The constant air flow causes multiple snow flurries along the face of it's peak. These scatterings of powder snow frequently catch the sun's light, making the mountain appear to glow and pulse with Arcane energy.
This is where the mountain got it's name, and since the colonization of Goldenrod Valley, explorers have been trying to find a trail to it's peak.
