The religion of Caledonia is something that has united the empire and inhabiting citizens for generations. While similar in regards to the real world's Catholic Church, the organization that makes up The Church of the Twelve lacks the traditionalist mindset and controversial history. The order itself is headed by an elected group of officials that have dedicated their life to the order and carrying out the will of the gods. Know more formally as the Abiding Covenant, this council works closely with Caladium Court to make sure the Original's Plan is upheld when governing the Empire.
Communal church services are held daily, and are not mandatory to attend, but everyone is encouraged to participate at least once a week. The church is united through aiding the community and looking out for your fellow man. Dedicated religious organizations do exist to work with and honor specific gods, while others work with multiple. Vows of celibacy are not required by all, but some do participate in such practices. It is not unusual for a religious leader to have a spouse or children.
The church is openly accepting of all races, nationalities, identities etc. Their sole point of contention is the fact they can look down upon those who do not practice or participate in the religion. While they do not discriminate or shame, they can come across as rather condescending and belittling to those who identity as agnostic or aetheist. The church would never let this slight prejudice distract from their dedication to help and support everyone in the community. While this is the general standard of organized religion in Caledonia, exceptions are known to exist.
