Sprawling from the eastern Cazimere Ocean, to the great western Sea of Serpents, to the radiant southern Ebony Isles,
and to the clear northern Isolde, the Empire of Caledonia encompasses all. The story of our land
spans thousands of years, and is rich with history and culture.
We Shall Stand For All Time.
The Caledonian Empire is broken up into ten regional districts for easier political management, and equal representation in the royal court. While there are slight cultural differences between the districts, all citizens proudly wear the label of being Caledonian. Due to this mentality, when individuals asked where they are originally from, most will state the district they were raised in rather than their hometown. The districts all vary in size, and each one hosts unique towns, cities, landmarks, and general trades. Each distract is managed by a Noble Household, directly supported by the Caladium Court. Reputations between the districts are mostly amicable, with respectful rivalries sprouting up every so often.
The only district without a Noble Household managing it would be Caledonia Proper, as it is the true capital of the Empire. This meaning, it is governed directly under the leadership of the Royal Family and Parliament.
Information about the districts and their general environments will be listed below. Visual examples and descriptions for each location can be found on their corresponding information sub page, which can be accessed by clicking on the District Name or by using the drop-down menu in the Map & World section.

🚩 Sea of Serpents
A cold northern sea with rich waters, it borders to the west of Kestramore and Ebudæ. The frigid temperatures grow warmer in the summer thanks to the underwater currents racing through the Pelagic Channel. Sea serpents were once commonly seen here, but with the decline of magic, they have become scare.
🚩 Pelagic Channel
A deep canyon in the ocean where nutrient dense currents race from the south to the north. It is estimated to be over 9 km deep. Every so often, random half eaten sea monsters can be found floating towards shore, most assume they originated from here.
🚩 Sandside Sea
A warm body of salt water that borders to the west of the Khartoum Desert, it hosts a wide variety of tropical life. It directly connects to the Sea of Mazarine, Bronn's Bay, and the Coral Sea. It's calm and crystal clear waters make it a popular beach destination for tourists.
🚩 Emerald Straights
Found between the Isles of Ebony and the Guardian Tropics, the Emerald Straights make up a warm tropical sea. It is rather shallow, and covered with many small islands. The water has a green tint to it, and it is very common to find precious gems and sea glass by it's shores, especially near the Emerald Cove.
🚩 Sea of Stars
A cold sea which borders to the West of the Guardian Tropics, and contains the Isle of Stars. The sea gets it's name from the bioluminescent algae that covers it's surface, giving the impression of stars sitting on the surface of the water. This phenomenon is caused by a strong current in Bensu Basin stirring up the nutrient rich frigid depths mixing with the warmer waters of the Dragon's Gulf, allowing the surface algae to bloom with little effort.
🚩 Oryn's Trench
The deepest known area of the world, Oryn's Trench was named after the god of Dæmons to pay homage to how he molded us out of the earth and clay. The trench itself sprawls into multiple fissures and channels, as if the gryphon god himself dug his talons into the sea. It is theorized to be at least 12 kms deep.
🚩 Cazimere Ocean
Bordering to the east of the Isle of Stars, Breckenridge, Avalon, and Kestramore, Cazimere Ocean was named in honor of an impactful general in Caledonia's history. It plays primary host to Oryn's trench, and is an extremely frigid body of water. It connects to Cazimere bay and the Elysion Coast.
*Landmarks/notable areas/townships are labeled with a flag, while major cities are labeled with a fleur-de-lis
- All areas have a civilian population unless stated otherwise
- World Oceans do not have civilian populations
- You are free to create your own townships/locations for your characters so long as you keep the world building in mind
- This meaning you won't create a character from a location like Raygar's Reach, an inhospitable mountain chain
*Any and all ethnicities and cultures found on planet earth are also present in this world
- In lore, all are under the banner of Caledonia, this meaning that everyone identifies as a Caledonian
*Map locations are in English due to the creator speaking primarily English, and thus wishes to avoid coming off as offensive
- All areas, in lore, lost their original names to time after the Caledonian Empire was established, and were renamed
