The least modernized and most traditional out of all the districts, Avalon looks as if it was birthed from the pages of a fairy tale. Led by the pious Galanodel Family, they blame technology and advancement as the reason the world fell apart during the Doctrine War and the Great Freeze.
This is a shared opinion among the general populace of Avalon, and while they may view the more advanced districts with caution and contempt, they would never outright pick a fight. Why start another war when compromise and diplomacy exists?
The city of Avalon is the capital of the district, it is heavily forested with most of it's buildings made of wood and stone. The incredibly historic architecture and buildings are only complimented by it's natural setting, full of ancient trees and wonderous rivers.
In fact, artists of Avalon frequently make "living" sculptures out of the surrounding foliage, a traditional practice that has existed for centuries.
The golden city, Elysion has the biggest population of the district. The canal based city is filled with towering buildings and extravagant monuments, imbedded to the core with culture and refinement. It hosts many Arcane Libraries & Arcane Research laboratories.
It is the warmest city in all of Avalon, and located on a moderately marshy area of land. Elysion blooms like a lotus flower from the surrounding murk and muck.
However, the city is slowly sinking back into the mud it was birthed from. This was originally stopped with Arcane Devices they invented, but due to the energy shortage, the problem has returned ten-fold.
Located in-between the Isle of Stars, Breckenridge, and Avalon, it is safe to assume the Elysion Coast has a wide variety of blended cultures. A principle reflected in the coastal township's architecture and local cuisine.
It has steep shore lines and cliffs, with water of turquoise, which makes it a popular tourist destination. The air is always salty here, with light hints of florals carried from the nearby Ethereal Fields of Breckenridge.
The northern-most city of the district, Ruzalk marches to the beat of it's own drum. While it hosts the same traditional values and love of magic as the rest of Avalon, it is loud and colorful and boisterous.
The city is located on a wide plain, circled to the south by a wide lake and crumbling mountains. It's incredibly foggy and overcast, only adding to it's unique atmosphere as it compliments the intricate architecture.
It is very common to find cherry blossoms dotting the landscape. In the spring, the streets are covered with pink petals.
Located to the east, An'alone is the crown jewel of Avalon. It is a city of culture and refinement, covered with extravagant architecture, sculptures, and painted frescos.
While the city has an opulent flair, the people are considerably down to earth. They take things on their own time, moving through life at the speed they find best, and are famous for their three hour lunches.
The city hosts an incredible museum of the Arcane Arts, as well as multiple higher magic schools. Attendance has dropped considerably with the decline of magic.
A coastal island city built from stone, Barcozela is one of the slower cities in Avalon. While they are less focused on studying the Arcane Arts as the rest of the district, they are still just as vain. The city hosts innumerable extravagant buildings and incredible sculptures, as well as incredible dining experiences.
The waters are clear and rather temperate considering the colder climate of Avalon, as such its a popular summer vacation destination. The postcard-like scenery combined with multiple castles dotting the islands only increase the prestige of this popular tourist destination.
Cradled between a mountain range and several rivers, the Valley of the Sun is an ancient location, spotted with Arcane Ruins. During the Sumer and Winter Solstice, Empire famous festivals are held here to celebrate the celestial body of light we know as the sun.
At the valley's end lies a large gate carved into the mountain side. It is incredibly ancient, and placed with care, as the sun sets through the exact center of the gate during specific ritual holidays.
There are several townships inhabiting the valley, and it hosts one of the largest Arcane Libraries known to Caledonia.
