Our Week at a Glance
Math: This week, we will begin Module 6. Module 6 focuses on telling time, data, and graphing. Students will be working on lessons 1-4. We will also be reviewing math concepts that we have learned throughout the year in preparation of CAASPP testing.
All students should be practicing their multiplication facts for a minimum of ten minutes every night as part of their homework. They must be fluent in multiplication facts as they continue their educational career. Flashcards are not needed, but if you would like to print a set visit this site. If you are interested in having your student practice on IXL, please view the following video. IXL Video Link
Reader's Workshop: We will continue to focus on reviewing skills from throughout the year to help prepare students for CAASPP testing. Students will also be taking a practice test for CAASPP called an IAB. This test will be done in two parts to guide students on appropriate test-taking skills.
Writer's Workshop: This week, students will learn how to make a graphic organizer to help them during CAASPP testing. Students will be writing an informational paragraph about Earth Day.
Science: The class will begin a research project on different biomes.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday and Friday for P.E/dance every week.
Weekly Reminders:
Daily 20 Reading Log: Please make sure your child is reading a "Just Right" chapter book. Picture books or books that are too easy will not be accepted for daily 20 reading. Your child should begin a book and continue reading it throughout the week. Please make sure they are writing the book title correctly and neatly in their folders.
Weekly Folder: A parent/guardian signature is required weekly. Students will return the folder the next school day.
Communicator: Each day, please read the communicator with your child, check off completed assignments, then sign the communicator.
Thank you,
Mrs. Higa
