Homework and Reminders:
Holiday Party and Gingerbread Houses: We will be making Gingerbread houses on Thursday, December 18th. Our classroom holiday party will be on Friday, December 19th. Important information regarding these activities has been sent to you from our Room Rep. Please be sure to check your email.
Stuff a Bus: PVSD's annual canned food drive to support the Food Share of Ventura County is happening all week. Please bring canned food or non-perishable donations to class this week to help our local community.
Return the signed Weekly Green Folder on Tuesday
Daily 20 reading log due on Thursday
Check homework and sign communicator daily
Wear House shirts every Thursday

Our Week at a Glance
Math: This week, students will be continuing in Module 3 with lessons 11 and 12. On Wednesday, students will receive a study guide and on Thursday students will take a test covering lessons 7-12. Please remember to continue practicing multiplication daily for at least 10 minutes. We will have our weekly multiplication test on Friday.
Reader's Workshop: This week, we will finish Unit 4 week 3 in our Comparing Points of View book. Our focus will be answering the essential question: What makes people view the same experience in different ways?
Writer's Workshop: Students will begin a narrative writing project about family holiday/winter traditions. At the end of the project, students will have the opportunity to present their project to the class.
Social Studies: We will continue with week 22 in our Studies Weekly curriculum. Lesson 22 will teach students about Communities Over Time. We will learn about how communities in California have changed over time.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday and Friday for P.E.
Weekly Reminders:
Daily 20 Reading Log: Please make sure your child is reading a "Just Right" chapter book. Picture books or books that are too easy will not be accepted for daily 20 reading. Your child should begin a book and continue reading it throughout the week. Please make sure they are writing the book title correctly and neatly in their folders.
Weekly Folder: A parent/guardian signature is required weekly. Students will return the folder the next school day.
Communicator: Each day, please read the communicator with your child, check off completed assignments, then sign the communicator.
