Hello Parents and Students,
One more week! We have been having such a fun time learning through this holiday season. I am so appreciative of your kindness, holiday cheer, and positivity as we finish 2025 strong. We have a very exciting week ahead of us before Winter Break! We will be building gingerbread houses, working on an extra special unit on the Polar Express, and watching the movie in our pajamas. I wish you all the happiest holidays filled with family, friends, and joy!

Homework and Reminders:
Report Cards: Trimester 1 report cards will be going home Thursday, December 18th. Please sign and return the envelope to confirm that you received the report card.
Gingerbread Houses: We will be building gingerbread houses on Thursday, December 18th!
Pajama Day: Wear your coziest pajamas on Friday, December 19th!
Holiday Party: We will have a celebration on Friday, December 19th. We will have fun activities throughout the day and end the day with the Polar Express movie and treats in our pajamas.

Daily 20 reading log due on Friday
Check homework and sign communicator daily

Our Week at a Glance
Math: This week we will work on holiday themed math and multiplication facts. Please make sure your child is practicing multiplication facts for at least 10 minutes a night. We will have our multiplication test on Friday.
Reader's Workshop: This week, we will review key concepts while reading the story of the Polar Express! We will be answering comprehension questions, working on understanding imagery, and sequence of events.
Writer's Workshop: Students will be working on writing concepts as we do Polar Express. We will be presenting their Home for the Holidays writing project this week. This writing project was completed last week. Students wrote about their family traditions during the month of December.
Social Studies: We will continue with week 23 in our Studies Weekly curriculum. Week 23 will teach students about Urban, Suburban, and Rural communities. We will learn about what these communities typically look like and their similarities & differences.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday and Thursday for P.E.
Weekly Reminders:
Daily 20 Reading Log: Please make sure your child is reading a "Just Right" chapter book. Picture books or books that are too easy will not be accepted for daily 20 reading. Your child should begin a book and continue reading it throughout the week. Please make sure they are writing the book title correctly and neatly in their folders.
Weekly Folder: A parent/guardian signature is required weekly. Students will return the folder the next school day.
Communicator: Each day, please read the communicator with your child, check off completed assignments, then sign the communicator.
